"Sweet Caroline... Buh buh buh!" The parents sang.
Felicia looked up from her book. "Momma, when ah we gon get dere?"
The woman in the passenger smiled back at her three year old.
"In a few hours, honey. Don't worry, we'll make this the best belated birthday party ever!"
Felicia smiled contentedly and went back to her picture book.
An advertisement came over the radio, and the dad switched it off with a groan. They drive in silence for a few minutes, then the dad judged the ad would be over, and looked at the radio to switch it on.
Mom suddenly shouted. "DEER!"
The breaks hasn't even been tapped before the car was flipping off the road.
Felicia screamed, then everything went black.
She woke up with a broken seatbelt, glass shards and crushed metal everywhere around her. The girl cried as she tore herself from the wreckage. She screamed for her parents to come out, backing away from the car.
Seconds later, the car imploded in a quick roar of fire.
The girl was thrown back, and knocked out for the second time that day.
The first thing she felt was the collar of her shirt up in her chin. The second thing she felt was earth, dragging into her back.
She craned her neck to see a dire wolf dragging her into a cave.
When they were in, she saw four other dire wolves resting on rocks.
Her captor wolf dragged her to the center of the cave, and all the wolves began surrounding her.
"STOP." She told them. "If you ah bad doggies, I won pet you."
The wolves pulled back in shock, tilting their heads.
"This one isn't scared." Beta said.
"Then what are we supposed to do?" Another wolf asked.
"Yeah. It's actually kind of freaky," Omega admitted.
"Well, if she ain't scared that must mean she's strong and if she's strong she's worthy to be among our ranks except out lower ranks of course cuz she's new but maybe she should join the pack of she is- I'll stop now." One of the other wolves said.
"Point taken. I'll invite her to the pack." Alpha decided.
Felicia was scared, because all she heard was BARK RUFF GROWL.
Alpha trotted slowly up to her and licked her face. She giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck.
The whole pack howled their delight.
