Missing You During the Holidays (SFW)

"Merry Christmas, baby! Wish you were here." You said through the phone as you panned the video chat around your house.

"Merry Christmas to you too, darling." Your lover said.

It was the evening of the 24th of December, yet you and your lover are in two different countries and aren't able to celebrate this special season together.

"Aww baby, why won't you turn on your camera?" You pouted.

"I'm sorry dear, but the signal's not cooperating." They said.

"Oh.. that's okay." You muttered.

The situation was discouraging you.

The fact that your lover wasn't physically present and that the video call, the that made you feel as if they were there with you, can't be done properly because of the stupid service.

Yes, you got to hear their voice, but it wasn't enough for you.

Because of these thoughts, you began to tear up and of course, your lover saw.

"What's wrong love? Why are you crying?" Your lover asked, concerned.

"It's just.. I miss you and I want to hug you right now and-" Your ranting was cut off when you heard the door bell ring.

"Hold on, love. Someone's outside."

"This late? Who could that be? Be careful, 'kay? They might do something." Your lover said.

"M'kay.. thank you, love. I'll be right back." You smiled.

'Alright.. calm down. It's literally Christmas Eve. Nothing bad will happen right?' You thought as you slowly walked to the door.

You opened the door to see...

Your lover, softly smiling at you.

You stared at them, wide-eyed, not believing your own eyes.

Your lover didn't waste any time and enveloped you in a hug.

"Well.. you missed me and wanted hugs so..." They teased.

You didn't get to reply to what they said as you were still in shock about them being here.

The hug went on for a while and you finally hugged them back, sobbing into their chest.

"You're here... you're really here..." "Yes I am, sweety. And I will be for a while. That's why I had my camera off the whole time. I wanted to surprise you." Your lover said as they kissed your cheek.

You continued sobbing into their chest.

"How about let's go shopping tomorrow. I'll buy you your Christmas present." Your lover said as they pulled away, cupping your cheeks and wiping away your tears.

"Are you kidding? This is already the best gift ever!" You exclaimed and then went back to sobbing and hugging them.

You can now finally celebrate this special season together.
