Stepping out of the elevator and into the brightly lit underground garage of the apartment complex I affectionately refered to as "Headquarters", my eyes were threatening to fall out of my skull as I took in the sight before me. Aiden, the sexy, young hunter that had been tasked to be my bodyguard - to which I had butted heads with my uncle about several times over the last few hours - was wearing a tailored, black suit. It was snug in all the right places and fit his well muscled body like a glove. He was standing in front of my uncle's Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner. It was sleek, black and built for luxury. A girl could get used to this.

"My Lady," Aiden smirked, eyes twinkling in humor. "Your chariot awaits."

Laughing, I said, "First, a Game of Thrones reference. Now we're going to Helen of Troy. What am I going to do with you?"

Aiden, eyes slowly meandered over my body and, despite the sky blue cocktail dress, making me feel like I wore nothing, gestured toward the open back door. "There are a few things I'd like you to do to me." He smirked as I side eyed him. "You up for at least one of them?"

That remark sent my head straight to all kinds of naughty places and erotic situations. I turned toward him with a smirk of my own. "We will see how the night goes." What? I was still young. I wasn't a virgin, but I wasn't promiscuous either. I had no intention of hopping into bed with the first hot guy that offered. Just this hot guy. Seriously people. Dean Winchester with a French accent. Do you blame me? I slid my shiny ass into the leather backseat and watched as Aiden walked around the car to take the driver's seat. He was really taking this chauffeur-slash-bodyguard thing seriously. I could have just sat in the front beside him. That would have blown our cover a little, though.

We continued flirting as he sped through the city to the first club I went to last night. As we pulled up, I made sure to tell Aiden that he must remain inside the car before opening the door and stepping out. The thumping of the bass vibrating my teeth, I walked to the entrance. After showing my identification and paying the cover charge, I shuffled inside the building between a guy trying to flirt and a young girl giggling at his advances. I mentally rolled my eyes. Young people and their hormones were ridiculous.

As per usual when on a mission, I went to the bar and ordered a mineral water. I swiveled in my seat and did a little people watching as I sipped my drink. A couple in the corner were dancing very sensually with each other, occasionally stealing a kiss and groping each other like there was no tomorrow. They would most definitely be leaving together, which brought my lacking love life prominently to the forefront of my brain. I pushed it back. Maybe later, once this vampire was eliminated, I could worry about finding love. But not now. Aiden, of course, already knew the job. It could be amiable with him. If I had to go on a mission, he'd understand, maybe even go with me. They didn't usually send couples on the same mission, though, because it could interfere or, rarely, it could end with heartbreak and a pain so intense the surviving lover wished for death. I didn't want a relationship with him. Not yet. I did, however, possibly want to get naked with him.

As my eyes scanned more of the crowd, I stopped on a familiar set of arctic eyes. I studied him in the flashing lights of the club. I couldn't really fixate on his features, although he was attractive, and I didn't know if this was the vampire I was hunting or someone else. Either way, I couldn't just let one go. Maybe killing this one would draw the other one out. If he was as old as everyone kept saying he was then he would most likely think he couldn't be killed. We would just have to see about that.

The vampire across the room inclined his head at me and disappeared out of my line of vision. I scowled and stood up. I hated it when they decided to play cat and mouse. I was no damn mouse. Making my way through the maze of people on the dance floor, I finally got to the spot previously occupied by the vampire in question. I didn't see anything that stood out at me. He was just . . . gone.
