The first meeting Voldemort allowed me to stand in on was a memorable one. Voldemort had the muggle studies professor from Hogwarts floating above the Malfoy's grand dining room table, silently screaming out in agony as she hovered in the air. Voldemort had spewed venomous words about how the muggle studies professor wanted pure blooded witches and wizards to breed with muggles and half-bloods, laughing alongside his Death Eaters and shooting glares at me from the head of the table. Draco sat beside his mother, fuming silently with each new comment. He glanced over at me a few times, but I kept my eyes down after seeing the muggle studies professor drop dead in front of me.
After that first meeting, I'd kept my mouth shut and kept my eyes down. I didn't really pay attention at any of the meetings, but Voldemort would often call me forward simply to reopen my wounds as a form of amusement for himself and his Death Eaters. Draco sat with gritted teeth during these meetings, but once we both escaped up to his room, he would rant and rave about how much he hated that I was hurt while tending to my wounds.
During an odd day off, Bellatrix summoned the Malfoy's to the dining room. Of course, Draco had convinced me to tag along, which irritated Bellatrix to no end.
"This is no place for a mudblood." She hissed as she saw Draco and I enter the dining room. "I asked for the Malfoy's, not for this abomination."
"You asked for me, and wherever I go, Mona goes." Draco snapped back impatiently. Before Bellatrix could respond, Snatchers disapparated into the Manor with the Golden Trio in hand. Bellatrix insisted that Draco identify Harry so we could give him up to Voldemort, but Draco played dumb.
"What happened to his face?" Draco asked, attempting to keep away from identifying him as Harry Potter.
"Yes, what did happen to his face?" Bellatrix demanded, glancing down to a Snatcher's hand. "Where did you get that?"
Bellatrix looked at the sword propped up proudly by one of the Snatchers. The Snatcher holding the sword said something snarky, and Bellatrix lost it, lashing out with her wand at the Snatchers. She told Pettigrew to take Ron and Harry to the cellar, as she wanted to have a "little chat, girl to girl" with Hermione.
As much as I disliked Hermione, she didn't deserve to have the word "mudblood" etched into her skin the same way Bellatrix had done to me. Her screams mirrored my own agonizing screams when I was carved, and I felt her pain. After the first scream, it all became too much, and I tucked myself against Draco's chest in an attempt to block out her screams, but it didn't work. Her screams echoed wildly in the large room, causing my own scars to throb with phantom pain. Her screams brought me back to when I was on the receiving end of Bellatrix's wand. Once Bellatrix was done, Draco loosened his hold on me. I remained tucked into Draco's side, shaking slightly at the thought of being tortured again.
While I was calming down, Narcissa leaned over and handed me my wand. When I raised my head to question her, I was met with Harry and Ron staring me down. Ron glared at Bellatrix, who was holding Hermione, and I quickly shot a spell at Harry. He fell to a knee, shallow cuts appearing along his torso and his arms, blood seeping onto his clothing.
"That is for what you did to Draco at Hogwarts." I hissed, watching blood fall from his mouth. Draco and Ron got into it, shooting spells back and forth. Harry managed to disarm Draco, and before I could disarm Harry, a house elf appeared and cut down the chandelier above Bellatrix.
"Stupid elf!" Bellatrix screeched, watching the chandelier fall in front of her. "You could've killed me!"
"Dobby never meant to kill." The house elf responded. "He only meant to maim, or seriously injure."
I cracked a small smile at the house elf, but it was wiped away when Bellatrix raised her wand. Dobby snapped his fingers, disarming Bellatrix and catching her mangled black wand. She started throwing a tantrum as Dobby declared himself a free elf. Dobby reached down and grabbed Harry's hand, disapparating away.
"Before they completely disappeared, Bellatrix threw a knife into the middle of the disapparating group, and I hoped she got someone, preferably Harry.
"Don't think for a second that that little spell you cast changes anything, mudblood." Bellatrix sneered, snatching my wand from my hands and giving it back to Narcissa. I flinched away from her talon-like nails, bumping into Draco. He steadied me as he glared at his aunt.
"Of course not, why would it change anything?" He muttered angrily. Luckily, Bellatrix hadn't heard his words, so Draco and I swiftly retreated back up to his room.
