Snow had fallen, blanketing Hogwarts in white once again. I wore the knitted sweater Goyle's mom made for me as Draco dragged me away from Umbridge and through the snow.

"Easy there, love." Draco said softly, stopping in the courtyard.

"Draco, I'm going to kill her." I snapped.

"No you aren't, Mona." Draco told me. "Weren't you the one who told Crabbe, Goyle, and I not to go to Dumbledore with her use of a blood quill because you didn't want her to know she'd gotten to you?"

"This is different; this time she knows she's gotten to me. Using my potions skills to question students, is she mad?" I snapped.

"Snape said-" Draco started.

"I don't give a damn what my father said! I'm not some pawn to be used in her crusade against Harry Potter. Working on the Inquisitorial Squad was my choice, but brewing veritaserum for that cow to interrogate students for no reason was not my choice." I snapped, feeling increasingly heated.

"Love, calm down. You don't have to brew anymore." Draco tried to calm me down.

"Only because my father no longer has the necessary ingredients to brew anymore." I huffed.

"It's okay, Mona." Draco said, wrapping me up in a hug. "You don't have to make her any more potions."

"I know." I sighed, wrapping my arms around him. "It's just a bit disheartening to know that I was taken advantage of by that horrible pink woman."

"Miss Littlesea, Mr. Malfoy, students are not permitted to be within eight inches of each other." Umbridge sounded, walking out into the courtyard with a smug smile on her pink lips.

"Sorry, professor." Draco mumbled, hesitantly pushing me away. Umbridge sent me a smug nod and let out a satisfied laugh as she walked away.

"I'm going to the common room." I muttered, walking away from Draco.

Once I made it to the common room, I sighed and sat down beside the fireplace, alone. I had nothing to do; dinner wasn't to be served for another hour, I had no new books, Lucina decided to fly off for a few days, and I had no new assignments for my advanced lessons. So, I whipped my wand out, enchanting a few pieces of spare parchment to look and behave as different animals; a small elephant circled my feet, and a tiny flock of birds flew throughout the common room; paper mice chased each other in front of the fireplace, earning an amused laugh from me.

This was one of the rare moments that I was truly alone; Crabbe and Goyle had decided to finish homework together in the Great Hall, I'd left Draco in the courtyard, and all the other students were busy studying for their OWLs or pretending to study in order to talk to their friends. I'd already done my studying for my OWLs, and even though I offered to help the boys, they wanted to pass their OWLs on their own. They were all very smart, so I had no doubts they'd do well.

"Pretty." Blaise Zabini spoke, drawing me out of my daze.

"What is?" I asked, turning to him. He sat down beside me and scooped up an elephant and a dog.

"These paper animals. How'd you do this?" He asked, laughing as the elephant headbutted his hand.

"Just something I picked up from my advanced charms lessons." I answered, smiling at the birds pecking at his hair.

"It's brilliant." He beamed.

"What's brilliant?" Draco asked, entering the common room.

"I enchanted some parchment to look and act like little animals." I told him, sending him a smile.

"Ah, brilliant spell really." Draco nodded. He'd grown accustomed to my paper enchantments, seeing as I'd send him notes in the form of many animals all the time.

"It really is." Blaise nodded, placing the parchment animals on the floor.

"What are you two planning to do before dinner?" I asked, waving my wand. The paper animals returned to normal parchment and stacked itself neatly on a table nearby.

"Just going to sit here with you two, if that's alright?" Blaise asked as Draco sat beside me, wrapping his arm around me.

"Sure, Zabini." Draco nodded. I let out a yawn and curled into Draco's side.

"You two talk, I'm going to take a nap before dinner." I said, letting my eyes slide shut just as Draco's hold on me tightened.
