Winter had come to Hogwarts fairly quickly. Snow blanketed the once green landscape surrounding the castle, which made Hogwarts look more enchanting than before. As the snow fell onto the stone of the castle, I spent more time within the castle, preferably in front of the crackling fire of the Slytherin common room. I much preferred the warmth of the enchanted fireplace than the freezing cold of the snow outside, something the troublesome trio had trouble coming to terms with.

"But, Des!" Crabbe whined, leaning toward me from the opposite couch. "Everyone loves the snow!"

"Not when you've spent as many winters as I have sleeping in the snow." I stubbornly retorted, pulling the blanket I was sharing with Draco up to my shoulders. Crabbe groaned and turned to Goyle, deciding that it was his turn.

"Just a quick walk, and we'll bring you right back to the common room." Goyle negotiated. He and Crabbe had been trying for hours to get me to leave the warmth of the common room on a cold Saturday afternoon, but they'd both been failing.

"No."

"Desdemona, please!" Crabbe begged.

"No." I shook my head. "It's cold out there. Besides, I am perfectly content right here under this blanket."

Draco shook his head in amusement, adjusting our shared blanket on his lap. He'd glanced away from his book to make sure I was still covered before turning back to the page he was reading.

"Please?" Crabbed pouted. I sighed deeply and sat up, letting the warm blanket fall from my shoulders.

"I don't even have a coat." I stated.

"I have extras." Goyle grinned, hopping up from the couch and rushing up to his dormitory.

"Just a quick walk." I told Crabbe.

"Just a walk." He nodded excitedly. Goyle reappeared and tossed a large coat at me. I shook my head and pushed the blanket off of me, shrugging the coat on as I glared at my two friends. Crabbe slid over the shoes I'd discarded earlier and smiled.

"Ten minutes." I told the boys. "If I'm not back inside in ten minutes, I'll hex you both."

"Okay, let's go!" Goyle smiled, grabbing my arm and tugging me out of the common room. As the door slammed shut behind us, Draco's laugh echoed out into the hall, making me roll my eyes.

The walk that led us outside took five minutes alone, thanks to the castle being ridiculously large. As soon as the crisp winter breeze hit my face, I regretted my decision to let Crabbe and Goyle drag me outside. I shivered as the boys excitedly dragged me across the snow covered courtyard, shoving my hands into the pockets of the coat I was wearing.

We walked along the shore of the frozen Black Lake, completely ignoring my request to be back in the common room by now. However, Crabbe and Goyle seemed to be having a good time, so I didn't press the issue. On our way back to the common room, nearly half an hour later, Goyle disappeared from my side.

I turned my head to see where he'd gone, and was met with a snowball to the face. Goyle's laugh filled my ears as I hastily swiped the snow from my face. Just as the snow had been cleared from my face, another snowball was smashed on the top of my head.

"Crabbe!" I yelled, turning toward the guilty looking boy.

"Sorry?" He offered a weak smile before taking off into the castle. I turned a glare toward Goyle, who swiftly followed after Crabbe. I shook the snow from my hair and shivered, following after the boys slowly. The warmth of the castle did little to stop the chill in my hands, and even less to stop the chill I felt in my body. I shook as I descended into the dungeons, and it only got worse as I stepped into the common room.

"You guys are the worst." I managed to get out through my harch shivers.

"What happened to you?" Draco asked, jumping off the couch and wrapping the blanket he was under around my shoulders.

"Crabbe and Goyle happened." I said, tearing Goyle's jacket off of my body. It was cold after being covered in snow. I threw it onto the common room floor and climbed onto the couch Draco and I shared earlier. Draco sat beside me, gently rubbing my arms as I shook.

"Sorry?" Goyle offered this time, earning glares from Draco and I.

"I'm going to get sick." I sniffled, already feeling horrible. "And your 'sorry' won't help that."

"You idiots." Draco breathed, pushing me closer to the fire.

"The next time I tell you I don't want to go outside," I paused to sneeze, shaking my head afterward. "Please don't make me."

"They won't." Draco decided. "I'll send them to get you some tea."

"Thank you." I sneezed again.
