"Sweet pea, wake up" I woke up to the sound of my mum's gentle voice on a rainy Saturday morning.
"Mum.. It's Saturday.. Let me sleep more" I pulled my blanket over my head.
"But it's almost noon, sweet pea"
I groaned as she pulled my blanket back down. "Alright alright" i sit up and mum sat beside me. I still had my eyes close as I rest my chin on my hand.
Mum gently stroke my back, "Sweet pea"
"Hmm?" I replied with one eye open.
"Is everything okay? You don't seem to feel so good" she placed her hand on my forehead and hissed.
"Omo! You have fever, your forehead is so hot!" Then she starts feeling my neck.
"Let's go to the clinic!"
I flashed a weak smile at my mum, "Mum.. It's okay. I just need more rest. Don't worry alright?"
She sighed knowing how stubborn I can be when it comes to going to the clinic and doctors.
"Alright, sweet pea but I'm gonna make sure you take your medicine. I still have one box of paracetamol. For now, go take a shower to reduce the heatiness and head downstairs. I'll make you chicken soup" she kissed my forehead and left the room.
Oh in case you don't know, my lovely mum is a doctor. Whenever I'm sick, without fail she'll treat me super well, giving her 200% making sure I'll feel better by the next day. My mum is amazing, not only as a doctor or a mother but a wonderful wife as well. My dad is one lucky man alright.
How I wish I would find someone like my mum.. But first things first, right now I'm confused with my sexuality. What if my parents can't accept the fact that I'm.. Gay? That would be hard for me. However what I know now is.. I'm crazy. Even in sickness, I'm still thinking of Taehyung.
The heck, Jungkook? Are you for real?
I snapped out of my thoughts and headed to the shower. I was shivering cold, I took only a short five minutes in there cause I couldn't take it anymore but I felt slightly fresher now. I went downstairs and mum was halfway done with her cooking so I sat at the dining table while waiting for her.
I lay my arms flat on the table and rest my head on it as if it were a pillow. Eventually, I drifted off to sleep, again. I was feeling extra fatigued today. During that short slumber...
Kookieeeee I have a surprise for you! What is it, babe?, I asked. Close your eyes, he said. And no peeking! I shut my eyes. He asked me whether I'm ready to see the surprise and I hummed in response. Alright you can open your eyes now but as soon as I wanted to do that...
"There you go, sweet pea. Chicken soup is ready!" She placed it on the table as I slowly stretched myself and rubbed my eyes.
"Want me to feed you, my precious baby?"
"Yes please" I widely grinned at her. Told you she gives her 200% when I'm sick.
"Here's comes the airplane" she motioned the spoon to look like a flying airplane and my mouth is the departure lane. I couldn't help but play along as well because I love being pampered by my mum when I'm sick.
After a couple of spoonfuls, I was all done. Mum told me to rest for ten minutes or so before taking my meds. Ugh medicine, I choke at the thought of that. Please get it as far away from me but oh well, it's the only thing that heals me.
Mum has already prepared two paracetamol pills with a glass of warm water on the table. I forced myself to swallow the pills, telling myself to just get it done and over with. Once I'm done, mum suddenly asked me such a random question.
