"At 9 o'clock, they'll be meeting in this room and that's where everything will go down." Going over the plan for tomorrow night. Again!
"I know the plan, we've been over it 3 times today alone," irritated. I can't wait until this assignment is over and I can get out of this house. His father is always giving me the death stare and his mother is just a little too happy for my licking. His sister is the only one that I like.
"I'm just making sure," "I know the plan," cutting him off.
We've been over the plan so many times I can do it in my sleep. I get up from the desk and walk out of the room. When I walked out, I saw his dad creeping and shut the door he was behind.
I don't know what's up with that man but I'm getting a weird feeling about him.
Going downstairs, I bump into his sister Cleo. "Hey girl, what are you up to?" Throwing some grapes in her mouth.
I sat down next to her as she slid the bowl of grapes. "Your brother is stressing me out. Is he always thorough?!" Popping a grape in my mouth. Honestly if I heard the plan one more time, he would be a part of the list.
Cleo nodded her head, "Yeah, ever since he was a kid. He's just like our sperm donor." Shrugging.
"Sperm donor?" Questioning.
"That's what I call my dad. Saved it on my phone and everything." Clarifying. Laughing a little, I popped another grape in my mouth. "Daddy issues are strong in this family I see," jokingly.
She agreed and we both sat there just laughing and eating. Then their mom and dad came into the kitchen and we both stopped laughing. "Oh no, don't stop talking just because we're here." Eva said going into the refrigerator.
"We didn't stop because of you mom, we stopped because of the one behind you." Cleo added.
"Cleo, as the man who raised you, I don't understand this random hostility towards me." Walking towards Eva. "And you," looking at me, "I don't understand why you're still in my house." Glaring.
Cleo rolled her eyes and stood up, grabbing the now empty bowl, "Random hostility?! There's nothing random about it, I've brought it up multiple times and now I'm tired of saying it." Walking out the kitchen.
Arthur watched her leave then looked over towards me. "Look Mr. Wynnters, I don't know what your problem is with me and I really don't care. Once I'm finished with this mission with Cole, you'll never see me again." Starting to walk away.
Stopping in my tracks, I turn around, "If you try to harm me in any way, shape or form. I would have no problem with your family finding you dead in your own home." Giving a tight lip smile before walking out the house.
When I got outside, I saw that Cleo had the same idea to leave and asked if I wanted to leave with her.
I got in the car and we headed somewhere. "Ugh I really can't stand my father, he makes me want to strangle him sometimes."
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened between you two to hate him so much?!" Asking sincerely.
She let out a deep sigh before answering. "Well as you know my parents are retired assassins. When Cole and I were young they were training us to do what they do blah blah blah. Honestly we didn't have much of a childhood." Pulling into an ice cream place.
We got out, walked into the store, placed our orders and ate our ice cream in the car and finished the conversation.
"As I was saying, by the time we were able to walk, our dad had us training on how to kill 101. Now our mom didn't really want that life for us but dear ole dad insisted. When me and Cole were 12 and 10, we were kidnapped and beaten a little because the person wanted to get back at father or something." While eating her banana split.
"Our father eventually got us back, but when he did he basically said it was our fault. That if we focused more on our training, we wouldn't have been able to get kidnapped. Like what type of shit is that. Who says that to their kids?" As she violently stabs her ice cream.
I went to say something before my phone started ringing, "What?" Seeing that it was Cole calling.
"Did you threaten Arthur that you'd kill him?" Yelling.
"No," licking my spoon, "I made a promise." Bluntly speaking. I heard him sigh on the phone, "Why would you do that?! Now he's making a big fuss about it and saying if you come back he's killing you." Sounding stressed out.
"He can try but I'm sure I can take his old ass. Anyway I'm with your sister so I'll see you later." Before hanging up.
"If you need a place to crash, I have an apartment you can crash at? That's where I'm mostly at anyway." Informing me. I nodded my head and agreed to it because I didn't feel comfortable in that house for real anyway.
I texted Cole to let him know that I was staying at Cleo's apartment until the mission was over, he told me no. That we could just get a hotel room but why do that when she offered.
We headed back to their family house and Cleo said she'd grabbed my things for me. For some odd reason, I trust her. Well enough for her to get my stuff but not with my life. After a minute I heard a knock at the window. It was Cole.
"Willow, come with me, we can get a hotel room," pleading.
I noticed his cheek was a little bruised, "What happened to your cheek?" Putting my hand under his chin, turning his head to the side. He shook his head and moved my hand, "Nothing to worry about."
I squinted my eyes before speaking, "Did he hit you?" I got out of the car kind of irritated and ready to kill someone. If he was going to have a bruise it was going to be from me.
"It's fine," brushing it off. I was about to say something until I heard Cleo cursing her father out. "You wonder why we only come to visit mom and not you. Please go to hell, Cole, get in the car now!" Carrying three bags in her hand.
Cole turned around confused, "You're both disappointments anyways. If you both leave this house you're cut off." Shouting from the doorway.
Cleo threw the bags in the trunk and their mom was telling Arthur to shut up while walking towards Cleo. "Sweetie please stay, I'll talk to your father, you know how he gets." Trying to ease the situation. I got in the car letting them deal with that.
She grabbed both her kids' hands and asked them to stay. Of course Cleo was against it and Cole was about to say yes until Cleo told him no.
She apologized to her mom and walked around the car and got in. Cole apologized too and kissed his mother on the cheek before getting in the car. She started crying and I almost felt sorry for her. Almost.
Cleo drove over and I watched their mother run back in the house, pushing their dad out the way.
This is too much family drama for me, I can't wait until this mission is over.
