Heaven Inside Hell

The sliding door slammed shut behind me and an empty corridor stood ahead of me. The shiny blue floor and locker lined walls reminded me more of a school than the freaky ‘WW’ room.

“Well, well, well... What have we here?”

The sharp voice rung through the corridor, bouncing off the walls in a vigorous manner.

“A newbie.”

“Um, yeah.”

My voice shook; I just wanted to get out of here.

“Scared?”

“That depends on what you look like; can you just show yourself already?”

I was starting to get annoyed. Why is it that everyone in this school was already out to get me? This place was terrible. Worse than her old school. At least there were no creepy people and evil sofas. A gentle chuckle shook the air.

“Evil sofas?”

“What? Was I talking out loud?”

A soft wind blew across the back of my neck, making me shiver.

“Boo.”

I gasped, and turned around fast. Standing behind me stood a scruffy looking boy, around 16, the same age as me. His hair was as black as ash and fell roughly upon his forehead. The endless grey of his eyes pierced my skin as he stared at me. His clothes consisted of a black t-shirt and black skinny jeans with black converses. “Aha, our shoes match,” I thought. My mind worries me sometimes.

“Yes, they do.” He stated.

“How did you-“

“Follow me.”

Then, he walked away!

Oh no, nobody cuts me off!

“I said… how did you know what I thought?” My demanding voice seemed like nothing compared to the cool, steely voice he used.

“That’s not your problem.”

“That’s not my problem…” I mimicked childishly.

Internally slapping myself, I hurried to follow him.

The wide corridor seemed endless as we power-walked through it. I hummed a tune to make the awkward hours go quicker.

“Stop that! You’re incredibly annoying.”

This boy was getting on my nerves.

“What’s your name?”

“None of your business, Emma Bailey.” He smirked.

“HEY, that is SO unfair. I didn’t even tell you my name. You probably saw it on a register or something. Unless, you can read minds. Then, you’d be like Edward from Twilight. That would be AWESOME. Not that I want to be your Bella or anything, cos’ that would be gross. I don’t even no you, so sorry, but I decline. Imagine that though, me in the woods saying ‘I know what you are… a vampire.’ I mean wouldn’t that just be absolutely crazy!? Okay, for that, yes. I will be your Bella, but with none of the nasty stuff. I mean, ‘ew’ much. I’d ha-“

“WILL YOU JUST BE QUIET!?”

“Grumpy much?”

“Yeah, now shush.”

We had neared the end of the corridor and towards a large wooden door.

“We’re here.”

“Thanks, err… person.”

“Eric.”

“Eric. Thank you.”

“Whatever. See you around, maybe.”

“Okay.”

He walked away.

“Well, he’s weirdly hot,” I thought.

I watched him walk away and saw his shoulders shake, as if in silent laughter.

I smiled.
