They're twins!
I looked at them side by side. Both have similar faces, of course, since they're twins. Both are equally handsome, with straight white teeth and straight noses. Both of them have the same build, but I think Onyx never missed abs day, as his abs were more prominent through his white shirt than his twin's. The only way I can tell them apart so far are because of their hairs. Onyx's hair is a midnight black, while Quartz has beach blonde hair like a surfer that had his hair bleached because of the sun. I can tell that Onyx dyed his, black.
And their parents love birthstones, apparently.
"We're from Clark Freeport, and we're in charge of looting nearby establishments for our camp."
If they were, why did they travel this far?
As always, I seem so easy to read as the black-haired guy spoke, his voice steadier than his white-haired brother who was quivering.
"All the buildings near us were already depleted of resources, so we had to travel a bit far from our camp... I can show you my ID."
He reached for something inside the pocket of his rugged vest and tossed it to me, the name "Onyx Santilla" written in bold letters in the middle of the card along with a picture of his handsome face beside it. The familiar logo of Clark Freeport that I've seen only on the posters was on top, and I can't even question the authenticity of the card since it felt like the real thing.
They weren't lying, they really are from Clark Freeport.
This is some destiny or fate bullshit. I was already planning to go to that camp settlement alone and conveniently, some people from said camp settlement were here already. I can't help but narrow my eyes into slits.
Either they were following me (which I doubt, because we're in the middle of nowhere, and I'd see them coming from a mile away). Or they were already here even before me and just abided their time to see if I was a friend or a foe. Or- or I'm the main character of a reverse-harem novel.
(A/N: Please stand by as our construction writers reconstruct and fortify the 4th wall. ^_^)
I mean, I was going back to Pampanga for the sole reason of wanting to be a resident of a settlement. What could go wrong? Well shit. I've learned that whenever a main character says that, things go south for them quickly. For that reason, erase that fucking statement.
I lowered my weapon completely and tossed his ID to him, causing both of them to lower their arms with obvious relief. I heard Quartz mumble "Holy shit I almost died", but I could be wrong. It didn't stop the grin from forming on my lips, though.
"Can't you speak?" Onyx asked.
Do I look like I can't speak??? Bruh.
I mentally sighed. Strangely, I miss those idiots. It's been three fucking months already, and I didn't want to bother them until I can truly handle myself and face them, not being a burden to themselves as well as mine. The map that Edward gave me lay heavily against my jacket pocket, and it took everything in me not to take it out and trample it as if it was burning.
Too bad I already memorized it from reading it too much.
His twin brother nudged his side, hard.
"She's wary around strangers, of course, she wouldn't speak to us. It takes too much energy, isn't that right, miss?"
How did this guy know?
MY brows furrowed, but other than that, they didn't see how impressed I am by his quick wit.
They both were drawing closer and closer to me and I didn't mind, mostly because they looked like they can be trusted, and I haven't sensed a lie ever since we met.
