Amami accompanied Ouma as they walked side-by-side around the running track, their classmates spread around either running or also walking for their sports class. The small man picked at his loaned gym uniform, finding it uncomfortably tight. Ouma glanced at Saihara walking ahead of him with Shirogane and Akamatsu. He refused to acknowledge Ouma all day, not even looking at him. Sighing, Ouma stared at the ground and wondered whether he should keep trying to fight for attention.

"You sad about Saihara?" Amami asked. Throughout the entire day that the greenette kept him company, Amami managed to avoid talking about Saihara. Until now.

"Yeah," the smaller boy whispered.

"Go and talk to him."

Ouma's eyes widened and he turned to stare at Amami. "Wh-What?! I can't!" He'd never do something that might make Saihara uncomfortable, no matter how much he wanted to fix things. The ravenette already cried about it three times today.

"Why?"

"H-He'll be mad at me!" He didn't want to start an argument. Saihara didn't deserve that pain.

Amami placed a hand on Ouma's shoulder that immediately retreated upon the abrupt recoil. "Talk to Saihara, dude. He won't be as mad as you think, despite the fact he's acting like a toddler." Ouma frowned and continued staring at the back of his boyfriend's head. "Saihara doesn't process or understand emotions well, so he takes things out on everyone else."

Ouma nodded and took a deep breath to calm his nerves. Amami wouldn't hurt him, he'd proven to be a good friend. "Good luck, little dude." Patting his back one last time, Amami gently eased the boy further forward. He hesitated but decided to go for it and run toward his boyfriend.

Akamatsu turned and noticed him, only to nudge Saihara. Saihara turned and the two boys locked eyes which only made Ouma try to run faster. His short legs couldn't take him as far as the others, but he had the stamina to make up for it. The bluenette turned back to Akamatsu before suddenly taking off, racing toward the trees behind a small chainlink fence protecting the track.

He reached the girls and stopped to frown at Akamatsu. She smirked. "Chase him. We'll cover for you two if the teacher asks anything." Ouma didn't approve of skipping class but he was already breaking the rules by walking the track instead of running... Saihara mattered more to him anyway and Ouma itched to chase him. Nodding at the girls, Ouma made sure the teacher turned away before bolting toward the area where Saihara disappeared.

Vaulting easily over the hip-height fence, Ouma disappeared into the flora. Stumbling over brush and sticks, Ouma soon found Saihara sitting in a small tree, his white and red uniform easy to spot. "Sai-" Ouma paused as he realised he almost made a mistake. That wouldn't be good, but Saihara would never hurt him. "Shuichi?"

Saihara hummed but didn't look at the boy. "Hm? Is that my boyfriend calling me?"

"I want to talk to you!" Ouma called. If what Amami said was true, Ouma wanted to help Saihara understand what he was feeling. Even though Ouma didn't know much about these things either.

"No, that sounds like Amami's boyfriend."

Ouma frowned and stomped his foot. "I'm not dating Amami!" Hope filled him when Saihara made eye contact, but that hope soon fizzled away.

"Prove it."

How the fuck was he supposed to prove his love? It wasn't something material... Ouma pursed his lips in thought. "I- I kissed you! Remember?!"

"Beforehand."

Ouma fell silent as he continued to try and find a solution. He didn't know what to do, so maybe he could try to make Saihara happy. "Shuichi, I love you." That's what boyfriends said, right? It fell silent again and Ouma felt frustration well up inside of him, pushing tears from his eyes. His vision blurred as he silently cried into his hands. All he wanted was his only friend and boyfriend back.
