HI! I'm back!! My extended break has ended! My college apps are done! The sun is shining! The grass is green! Life is looking good! Please be patient with me as I get these first few chapters out since I'm getting used to writing again. The tone might be a bit off and they might be a bit short, but I hope you guys still like it!

Today was not a good day. Sora almost got cooked into a stew.
"Or that's how I'd like to start my letter to Tanjiro," You muttered, staring at the blank piece of paper, "But he'd probably get really worried."
Sora cawed indignantly, hopping around the small desk and almost spilling your bottle of ink. "I was not cooked! I refuse to be cooked!"
"Yeah, yeah," You brushed her off.
It was the day after you, Sayuri, and Ren killed that weird ghosty demon. Apparently, as soon as Sayuri woke up, her crow came back with another mission for her and Ren, so they packed up their things, shook you awake, and said goodbye.
I can't believe the Big Man Up There didn't warrant that goodbye in its own scene. You huffed, glaring at the sky. Who knows when our next mission together would be? You have to make these things emotional so people can look forward to meeting them again. Don't you know anything?
A potted plant toppled over, spilling dirt all over the floor. You sighed.
"Fine." You stretched your arms out with a groan and picked up a brush. "If I write it in English, will you read it out to him?"
Sora was quiet for a moment, staring at you with her beady black eyes. You would've been unnerved by her actions if she didn't do this five times a day.
"Pay me for working overtime."
"What's 'overtime' and I don't even pay you."
"It means overtime. Start paying me."
"Aren't you doing this out of the goodness in your heart?"
"That goodness is only for the Master and his family."
"I feel betrayed."
"Good."
Regardless of your banter, she didn't protest when you began to write your letter in English. You tried to make it legible but there was only so much you could do. You hadn't written anything in English for almost a year, give it a break.
When you finished your letter to Tanjiro, you got bored.
"I have an idea."
"Oh no."
"Shush. So you know what number neighbors are, right?" You asked and Sora shook her head. Obviously, since telephones weren't universally common until a decade or so later. "That doesn't matter." You turned to your desk again, taking out a new sheet of paper. Writing a short letter just for funsies, you tied it to Sora's leg with the instruction of giving it to the first demon slayer she saw on her way to Tanjiro. "Go, Sora! To infinity and beyond!"
"I don't have the strength for infinity," Sora grumbled before flying out the window. You grinned, waving your hand as you watched her carry the future of your boredom in her claws.
You hummed as you watched her fly far away, giddiness building up in your chest. It was the first time you sent a letter to Tanjiro after becoming a couple (something you still couldn't believe, knowing your tendency to be dumb as hell) and you felt like a soldier from the frontlines sending a letter to your partner back home.
