"Well ain't it the rebel himself." I heard my sister scowled and I shot literal glares at her.
She haves some guts for insulting my boyfriend in front of me. I have years of anger inside of me that is willing it to lash out on her with a few punches.
"And you must be May." Michael smiled at May kindly, "Natalie talks about you."
"Huh," May grinned at me, then looked at Michael, still grinning, "Were they pleasant?"
"Enough to know about you." Michael answered carefully but quick. Wow. He's being super careful with his words right now.
"Too bad we don't know much about you, dear." My mother surprisingly smiled at him, "Since you're busy with whatever is you're doing, we can go out for brunch tomorrow if you're not busy."
"Well-" I wasn't in the mood for having brunch with them but Michael cut me off by saying, "Of course. Looking forward to it, Ms. Peirretta."
I snapped my head at him, shocked at his reply.
"Nice meeting you, Michael." I heard my mom say as I looked back at her, "Natalie, see you tomorrow?"
My mouth opened but no words were coming out.
"Wow," I heard Mia's voice pop up, "First time she's ever speechless."
I blinked to bring my sanity back to earth.
"Uh, yeah, see you. I'm sorry that I couldn't hang out with you."
"Oh no worries, honey." My dad finally spoke up and smiled at me, "It's our own faults for dropping in like this. We'll see you tomorrow."
"Yeah," Will spoke up also, "Tomorrow."
For some reason, there words made me feel calm and assured about this whole thing. It's bittersweet that they're back. Bitter part is that my mom and sister is now in the same area as me but the sweet part is that my dad and brother is here also and they get to bond with Michael.
Huh, the thought of that kind of makes this situation better.
After I said my good byes to them and closed the door, I leaned against the door with my arms crossed to face Michael.
"That was quite proper of you." I chuckled at him, "Since when you knew how to talk like that?"
"Hey," Michael leaned in, putting his hand against the door behind me so he could lean closer, "Just know, everything I do from now on is going to be for you."
I held my arms tighter, "Why? I could handle them myself, you know. I've done it before."
