I gaze out my window in King's Landing. I look out at the city I've called home for basically my entire life. I must admit these past five years of my life have been lonely. My mother and brothers are on Dragonstone with Daemon while I've been stuck here at King's Landing waiting to be married to Prince Aemond. I got to go to Dragonstone for about a year then I became betrothed to Aemond. I look out at the sea and try to picture myself at Dragonstone with my family.

I turn around as I hear a knock on my door. "Enter." I say calmly as I straighten out my dress. I smile as I see my handmaiden, and best friend, enter my chambers. "My lady." Anastasia says with a bow. I laugh and hug her. "I have news of your mother and brother's." She says and my eyes light up with joy. "They are coming to King's Landing on the morrow." She says and my smile widens. "This is wonderful. I haven't seen my mother or brother's in five years." I say excitedly. "I know and I am happy for you." She Anastasia says with a smile. I laugh and hug her again. "Alright, alright. Let's get you ready for dinner." Anastasia says and I nod.

I pick out a green dress with black flowers scattered around the skirt. Anastasia helps me lace up my dress as I place a black dragon ring on my finger that has emeralds for the eyes. I put in some emerald earrings and I place an emerald necklace around my neck. Anastasia braids my hair as I put tint on my lips and cheeks.

I stand up and straighten out my dress. I thank Anastasia and walk out of my chambers. I walk down the long stone hallways of the castle I call home. I walk into the dining chambers and take my seat next to Aemond. I offer him a small smile which he returns. I never wanted to be betrothed to Aemond, he however always wanted to marry me, especially after what my brother's did to him six years ago.

I look up and smile as I see Helaena sit across from me. Helaena and I have become close these past five years, like real sisters. I have always wanted a sister and I have one in Helaena. I look up as Alicent takes her place at the head of the table and Otto sits beside her. Viserys hasn't had dinner with us in a year because of how horrible his health has gotten.

A plate full of a variety of foods is sit in front of all of us. Wine is poured into each of our cups and silverware is placed beside our plates. "Let us pray." Alicent says and we all bow our heads. While Alicent and everyone at this table may worship The Seven, I worship The Old Gods like my mother and brothers. While Alicent says a prayer out loud I say a silent prayer to myself. We all raise our heads as Alicent gets finished saying the prayer.

I pick up my knife and fork and cut into the thick slice of meat on my plate. "Rhaella, I assume you've heard the news about your mother and brother's return to King's Landing?" Alicent asks. "Yes, your grace." I say with a nod. "I assume you must be happy to see your mother again." She says with a smile. "Yes, your grace. It has been years." I say with a small smile at the thought of my mother. Alicent smiles and nods. "You and Aemond are to be wed soon." She says and I start to pick at my nails, a habit I've picked up from the queen. "Yes, your grace, and I am most excited for the joyous day." I say putting on a fake smile as I look over at Aemond. Alicent nods and starts talking to her father.

I quickly eat the rest of my food and drink my wine. "May I be excused, your grace?" I ask Alicent. "Yes, you are excused." Alicent says as she waves me off. I quickly stand up and walk out of the dining chambers. I walk to my chambers and quickly strip off my dress and jewelry. I get out my dragon-riding gear and quickly pull it on. I smile and pull on my leather boots.

I exit my chambers and walk down the halls to the front courtyard. I look around and smile as I see no one around. I take off in a sprint to the Dragonpit. My brown hair flies behind me as my boots slam against the ground. I reach the Dragonpit and slow down to a walk to catch my breath. I walk to the center of the pit and stick two fingers to my mouth. I whistle and look to the sky. After a few seconds, I see a pair of jet-black wings flapping towards my direction.

I smile as my dragon, Valathore, lands in front of me. Valathore is almost the size of Vhagar. Most people know him as 'The Canibal' because on Dragonstone he would feast on dead and newborn dragons. That's why he can't be kept in the Dragonpit. I look into his bright green eyes and put my hand on his nose. I smile and use the leather ropes attached to his mount to climb onto his back. "Sōvēs." I say and Valathore takes off in a run. When he gets enough momentum he lifts into the air as his wings carry us higher into the sky. I smile as we fly over the sea. I have come to love the sea because it reminds me of Dragonstone, of home.

After about an hour of flying, I decided to land back at the Dragonpit. I climb down from my saddle and smile as I lightly run my hand across Valathore's neck. I pat Valathore twice and he flies away. I smile as I watch my dragon fly into the clouds. I sigh contently and make my way back to the castle. I enter my chambers and walk to my vanity. I run my fingers through my hair to undo my braids. I walk into my bathing chambers and get a wet rag. I run the cold cloth over my lips and cheeks to remove the tint I put on earlier in the day. I then walk back out into my chambers.

I hear a knock on my door. "Enter." I say. Anastasia enters my chambers and smiles seeing my dragon riding gear. "Out for a ride?" She asks and I laugh. Anastasia goes into my bathing chambers and gets a bath ready for me. Anastasia comes out a few minutes later and helps me undress. I go into my bathing chambers and place my hand in the bath water. After feeling the temperature I then get into the water. "You may go Anastasia." I say to her. "Good night princess." She says with a smile. "Good night Anastasia." I say with a smile of my own.

I grab the rag from earlier and dip it into the warm water. I run the cloth over my skin and clean away the sweat from the dragon ride. I then dunk my head under the water to clean my hair and face. I sigh and get out of the bath. I put on my nightgown and dry my hair with a towel. I walk back out into my chambers and walk over to my bed. I lay down on the soft satin sheets and throw my blanket over me. I close my eyes as thoughts of Dragonstone and my family enter my mind. I smile and drift off into a peaceful sleep.
