It's the beginning of Olivia East's junior year. From the outside her life seems perfect. She gets straight A's, all of the guys go crazy for her, and she has a bunch of friends. The problem is that none of them know the real her and they all just like her for her social status. Olivia is breaking inside but no one can see it because none of her "friends" are really there for her when she needs them.
Michael Clifford is in his senior year. He moved to North Carolina from Australia during the summer before his junior year and he only has 3 close friends, Luke, Ashton, and Calum. They are the 'school badasses,' constantly coming late for class, getting into fights, getting detention, etc...
Of course, Michael and Olivia have never gotten along but their reasons to hate each other are just based on stereotypes.
What will happen when Michael and Olivia run into each other somewhere where they never imagined they would see each other? Will Michael be able to be the one person who is truly there for her?
