Part Two - Magic & Memories (Loki x Reader)

Chapter One - The Return

     "I still can't believe how full those two ended up being at the end of Walpurgisnacht," says Dagny before she takes another bite.

     "And I still can't believe Fandral tried to kiss Sif and all she did was push him away making him fall on his bottom," I say.

     We all laugh and Sif says "The only reason I showed him mercy was because he was clearly very full. Otherwise, he would have definitely woken up with a couple of bruises, at least."

     We keep eating when Sif looks at me. "Do you know what time they will be arriving?"

     "In my vision, the sun was high in the sky so I'm guessing right before or right after lunch."

     Sif nods slowly, "That explains your dress. Will you still have your magic lesson with Queen Frigga after you finish breaking your fast?"

     I peek over at Queen Frigga and shrug my shoulders. "I'm not sure. My mom told her about my vision before they came down to the hall. I guess I'll find out when I head over to the table when I'm done eating."

     Dagny drinks from her cup then smiles at me. "The growth of your magic has impressed Queen Frigga. I am sure Prince Loki will be very impressed and proud as well."

     I smile back at her. "Thank you, Dagny. But I still need to touch someone to be able to read their minds and I have to concentrate really hard to try and get visions when I'm awake."

     "Yes, but you are having vision dreams more easily now and you can remember them. And you don't need to concentrate as long in order to clear your mind to try and see something that hasn't happened yet," says Dagny.

     "Not to mention how far you have come training with me, little Valkyrie. You are stronger, faster, and react more quickly than you did. You can use a dagger in each hand now and your aim with a dagger and a bow and arrow has improved, as well. You have come far since Prince Loki was last here," says Sif.

     "You must be very excited to see him again," says Dagny.

     I nod quickly then stop. "Not that I haven't got any other friends since you're my friends too, I promise."

     They both smile at me and Sif says "We consider you our friend too, little Valkyrie. However, Loki is your best friend. The both of you have a unique bond that is stronger than any other."

     Dagny nods and says "That doesn't mean that you don't see us as your friends. Don't worry. We understand that you've missed him a lot even though we've all had fun times together. Just don't forget about us when he gets here."

     I shake my head. "You're my friends too, I can't forget about you. Though Loki may want us to do things just the two of us."

     Sif raises an eyebrow. "Knowing Prince Loki, he will keep you to himself for a bit while you two catch up and such. Just do not let him keep you away too long."

     I smile at Sif, happy that they understand. I said Loki would want to do things just the two of us, but I do too, I just don't want to hurt their feelings. "I won't let him, I promise."

     I finish my food, say bye to my friends, and walk up to where Queen Frigga is sitting. I curtsy then take a step closer to the table as she smiles at me.

     "Good morning, Queen Frigga."

     "Good morning, little one. Your mother tells me you have had a vision that my husband and sons will be returning today."

     I nod. "It came to me in a dream."

     Queen Frigga's smile gets bigger. "I have heard from Heimdall as well. Your vision is correct. How lovely to see your magic getting stronger and your confidence in it is growing as well." I feel my cheeks get warm as I thank her and I peek over at my mom who is smiling at me. "And with this happy news, I believe that it would be best to not have our magic lesson today. Happiness and excitement are quite strong distractions for even the best magic wielders. We can meet again after tomorrow's Midsumarblót festivities."

     "Thank you, your majesty. You're probably right. I've been really excited since I woke up."

     She leans towards me. "Would you like to stand beside me as we welcome everyone back home?"

     My eyes get big all by themselves. "Could I really?"

     "Of course you can. I am sure my son cannot wait to see you either. Besides, I believe Thor's friends will make their way to the front of the group to welcome him back. Seems quite fair to me."

     My heart beats faster as I get even more excited. "Thank you very much, your majesty! Thank you!"

     "You are very welcome, little one. As soon as you hear the trumpets signaling they are back, you can join us at the entrance. We all gather there first then make our way outside for their return."

     "I will run if I have to. Thank you again!" I curtsy and make my way back to Sif and Dagny.

     "Did she cancel your lesson?" asks Dagny.

     I nod. "Yep. And she said we can have our next lesson the day after tomorrow."

     "What are you going to do while you wait?" asks Sif.

     "Well since I can't train because I wouldn't have time to change and all that before they get here, I was thinking I could go try and read in the library. If I can concentrate, it will make time go by faster."

     "That's a good plan," says Dagny before she gets up as Queen Frigga and her other ladies get up. "I shall see you both later."

     "Are you sure you want to go read? You can always come with me and watch me reduce young men to frustrated tears," says Sif.

     I laugh. "It is very fun to watch you do that, but I don't want to accidentally get my dress dirty. I just know that would happen somehow."

     Sif nods as we both get up and walk to the hallway. "You might be right. Well, if you want to come down and watch me if you cannot concentrate on your book, you are always welcome."

     "Thank you, Sif. Have fun making boys mad because you're better."

     She laughs as she waves to me then we walk in opposite directions. I get to the library without paying too much attention. I'm just too excited that Loki is finally coming back and I want him back now. I find a book I've already read that I really liked because I know I won't be able to concentrate if I try to start a new one. I get comfortable on my favorite couch near the fireplace that's empty right now. I make sure my dress is spread around as best I can so it doesn't get too wrinkled.

     I bring it up to my face and take a deep breath. I smile when I remember the day I had Loki smell books with me. I shake my head and open my book. At first, it's hard but soon the story sucks me in and I start reading faster and faster. I only get up once to go to the nearest bathroom before coming right back to the couch and book. Trumpets suddenly make noise and I jump. I leave the book on the couch and run out the door. But then, I slow down so I don't get sweaty. My heart beats faster than I run and all I think is he's finally here.
