"𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐘/𝐧... 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮?"

**********

Her eyes bored into his and the corners of her mouth curled up into a disarming smile at the question. She placed her index finger to her lips in a shushing motion before pointing at the doctor laying beside her. Y/n rummaged through the things she found in the oversized coat - although Noé was firmly against it - finding the accursed grimoire which she quickly returned after being unable to open the damned thing.

They sat in silence together, Noé staring at the stained glass while she observed him admiringly. They didn't know how much time had passed before hearing clothes rustle behind them.

"Awake, are you? About time." She said, finally tearing her eyes away from the male vampire and glancing at Vanitas.

"I'm alive." He exhaled, obviously relieved, before checking himself for injuries only to find the same bruises and cuts from his earlier stunts.

"You have Mademoiselle Y/n to thank for that."

Vanitas gave the woman the same curious and bemused look from earlier, this time with a hint of gratitude, "So it was the lovely lady who came to my rescue?" He dusted himself off before approaching her, taking hold of her hand and lifting it to his lips, planting a soft kiss on her gloved knuckles, "you have my sincerest thank you."

"That so?"

"Of course-" The words had barely left his lips before she stood up and had him by the jaw, forcing him to look up at her.

She lowered her face to his and in a silvery voice, she asked, "How will you repay me?"

"..What?" He breathed out.

"My services aren't free, Monsieur. At the risk of injuring myself, I saved your life... You owe me." Her eyes glowed dangerously and his heart raced, "So, what will it be?"

Watching their interaction, Noé pitied the man. Just the mere thought of being indebted to her made him shiver, he would have taken risking his life in that fall over owing her anything. It seemed too dangerous. She seemed too dangerous.

"What do you want?"

Noé nearly had a heart attack when he heard the question, did the human have a death wish? In contrast, Y/n smiled delightedly which only further terrorized Noé.

Y/n let go of Vanitas and took a step back, allowing him space to compose himself, "Information."

He chuckled, "You'll have to be more specific."

"I want to know who you are, what you did to Amelia, and what your intentions are with that book."

"Is that all? You had me regretting life for a moment." He advanced as he spoke, "I used 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝑽𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒔 to remove the alteration formula, i.e, the maladies corrupting her true name. It was nothing."

"It was nothing? How could you say that?" Noé asked incredulously, "It was extraordinary! My teacher told me all about it! A vampire's true name is akin to life itself, it must never be taken by anyone. You reclaimed it for her, didn't you?! That is amazing! Phenomenal!"
