Chapter 3

*Aaliyah's P.O.V*

After I slapped Trey, he grabbed my hand.

"Listen Aaliyah, I know you think I only want you 'cause Tyriq wants you, but that's only part of it." I looked at him like he was crazy and tried to walk away.

"No, listen, what I mean is, I realized what I was missing out on. I have always liked you, Li, but I didn't want to admit it. I never have done the relationship thing, and you know that, but at least let me show you I can be that nigga that'll treat you right." I laughed bitterly and shook my head. Excuses, excuses.

"Trey, you are really making this hard for me. I want to get over you so bad, but my stupid heart still wants you. Stupid asshole!" I said, feeling tears surfacing.

He pulled me closer to his chest, "Then don't fight it, bae. I know you need for me to let my actions speak rather than my words, so Ima show you, aight?" What was I doing? Ty was perfect! I couldn't consider that.

"Trey, I like Ty. He doesn't toy with my heart, and he's really sweet." I said smiling slightly.

"Dammit, Aaliyah, just don't make any lasting decisions. I'm gone show you." He let go of me, kissed my forehead, and began to walk away. My heart was still in love with him, and I wanted nothing more than to let him hold me, and say yes, but I was gonna just have to see how he was gonna 'show' me. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to hang with Ty, and I'm still pissed with Trey, but this should be interesting. Plus, and most importantly, I don't belong to anyone.

I walked the short distance to my house, and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw that limo out front. Shit! This only means one thing...

"Aaliyah, what the fuck you doin' out lookin' like a two dolla' hoe? Get yo fast ass in this house right goddamn now!" My mom's loud voice yelled from the limo window. I took a deep breath and walked closer. She was supposed to be gone for three weeks this time. Why was she home? Oh god, I hope Spencer isn't with her.

"Let's get in the house, Ari." I heard his voice as I walked up the porch steps. FUCK! I need to get as far away from him as soon as possible.

I didn't have anything with me, so I had to wait for them to unlock the door.

"Bitch, open the fuckin' door!" My mom yelled, and I told her how I didn't have my key. It's not like I lost it. It was in my locker.

"You are such an embarrassment. I can't wait til yo lil ass turn 18. Yo ass gone be out this fuckin' house, and I won't have to see yo hoe ass no mo'! Move out my way!" She yelled, and I obeyed, stepping back so she could unlock the door. I loved my mom, and I know she was just stressed sometimes. Spencer wasn't faithful, and she knew that. I felt sorry for her, and I would always love her.

I was waiting for her to unlock the door, when Spencer grabbed my hip, and whispered in my ear, "I missed you baby. Go wait in yo room fo' me, and make sure you put on somethin' sexy." I pushed him back, and ran in the house, almost knocking my mom over, and she grabbed my hair, and pulled hard.

"Bitch don't fuckin' bump me! I'll beat you like one of these little hoes in the street! Don't come out yo room!" She yelled in my ear, getting some spit on the side of my face. I nodded my head, and she released me. I ran up the steps, and lightly closed my door. She would kill me if I even thought about slamming it.

When it closed, I moved my desk chair, and put it under the knob, so Spencer couldn't get in. He was a freaking creep! Always trying to feel me up, and I think my mom knew. Maybe that's why she hated me too.

I heard their voices downstairs, and went to my closet. I made sure I always had a suitcase packed. Sometimes, I wanted run away, but one time my mom caught me, beat me, and then cried on my shoulder, and confessed how much she needed me. She said she loved me, and was just a little stressed out and tired lately. That was a year ago, and she hasn't showed me any compassion or motherly love since then. The only thing she was good for was shelling out money.
