Rory POV

Five minutes.

Five whole minutes is how long my mum and my 'girlfriend' have been laughing and joking in her office.

That's it. I'm going in.

I marched up to the office, swinging the door open.

"What in the fuck are you two doing?" I whisper shouted.

They both froze in place.

"Rory dear, how are you feeling?" Mum tried to brush it off.

"No no no. Don't try that with me Mum."

"I'll give you two some privacy," Harris mumbled.

"We're still talking about this." I glared at her.

"Looking forward to it." She mumbled before shutting the office door behind her.

"Mum, what are you doing here?" I crossed my arms.

"You should apply for a promotion you're really scary sometimes." She laughed nervously.

"Don't test me."

"Fine but don't get mad at Antoinette she didn't really have a choice in the matter." She gave in, sitting in the chair I'm usually in.

"What are you talking about?"

"Promise me?" She glared.

"Sure whatever, I promise." I huffed.

"Your brother drove her to our house yesterday after he found her drunk at Otto's. So I made her stay and drove her to work." She said, fiddling with her thumbs.

"Is that it?"

"We may have had a small intervention." She mumbled.

I sighed, "For fuck sake."

"Language." She scolded.

"Sorry... Did you feed her?" I asked timidly.

"Waffles." She smiled proudly.

I tutted jokingly, "Should've known you'd remember that."

I took a seat in Toni's chair, chuckling at the situation.

"So, what do you think?" I cautiously asked.

"I love her." She grinned.

"Yeah, she tends to have that effect on people..." I muttered.

"Rory, she feels awful about what happened."

I rubbed my face with my hands, "So do I. I know I overreacted but with... I just never expected it from her."

She leaned forward, placing her hand on mine lovingly, "I know you still struggle with that but you and I both know Antoinette isn't her."

I sighed, "I know."

"Give her a chance. She loves you she just doesn't know it yet." She smiled.

"You think so?" I tried not to smile.

"I know so. Just give her some time to figure it out."

"Alright. I'll talk to her soon. When I can bring myself to face her..."

"You're so dramatic." She laughed.

"I know. Thanks, Mum."

"You're always welcome. I'm here for you at any hour any day, you know that."

"Yeah yeah, go on get out of here before you start crying." I chuckled, standing to walk her to the door.

I pulled her in for a hug, "Bye Mum I love you."
