Peter POV

It's today. Judgement Day.

Everything was in place, web launchers loaded under the very lid, supplies too. Outfits washed, everything prepared perfectly.

It is today that we plan to infiltrate the Black Eagle base. We have learned that this is one of their more important bases. It's known that it won't be easy and I might not get out of it, but I have to do it so I can take the next steps. I could report it to the police, but would they care? Ever since Black Eagle burst into our city a few months ago, they have been sponsoring almost everything. From the police to the campaigns of politicians. They think they're such benefactors, but in reality they're as rotten and toxic as the tail of the hapless Scorpio.

I was mending my costume last time. James was helping me with it. We decided that Osborn would oversee everything from his mansion. He didn't have as much technology in his room as he did at home. Plus the flat was better secured.

I was very scared, but I couldn't give up now. I had to move on.

"Ready?" my friend asked me, assembling the upgrades to my outfit.

We had to improve the outfit to make it more robust. I got extra pockets for a spare web and for my phone.

I took a deep breath in and out. My hands were shaking, I had eaten very little. The day seemed perfect for such a big jump. The weather was clear, the night sounded full. Darkness enveloped New York. Everything was perfectly prepared, but the success of the plot depended solely on me.

"Ready," I said fidgeting.

James put his hand on my chest. He looked me straight in the eye.

"If anything happens, call us. We'll find you," he said confidently.

I nodded my head.

Watching everything from the balcony was Mr Norman. He looked at me with such disbelief but also respect. He was the second person to know my identity. And so far the last. The man looked at me with his tired yet focused eyes. Experience, the familiarity of life, was beaming from him. He leaned against the railing and looked intently at me and his son. Always elegantly dressed, dignified but having his deviations. James sees him as more than a father and mentor. He sees him as a friend.

"Peter" his voice sounded serious.

I turned away with a serious face.

"Good luck" he said caringly, worried that a teenager was going to war with such an organisation.

He had been watching us surreptitiously since the beginning of our investigation. Sometimes he advised, but generally he tried not to interfere. He just watched our progress and cheered quietly. He made sure we didn't do something stupid and helped James with decoding the files. Although I feel he is hiding something from us, that he is not telling the whole truth, that he has dealt with these people before. However, it is apparent that his son's wellbeing is his priority, at the same time he knows that he will not change his mind or his stubbornness.

"Thank you, Mr Osborn," I said with seriousness and respect.

James patted me on the shoulder. I put on my mask and jumped out of the window.

I immediately used the web. I felt like I was going to war. So scared, but I was ready. At least I hoped so.

The plan was simple, get into the base and steal as much data as possible. Find out what they were doing with the serious ones. Later, with a lot of luck, beat a couple of Black Eagle types and escape. I was hoping nothing would surprise me there, but this organisation surprises me all the time. With the help of the GPS in my mask, I was able to get to my chosen location quickly. We had agreed with James that I would only call if I was in the greatest need. Osborn was to be on the phone at all times. Focus was paramount, I couldn't get distracted.
