The burn on my forehead had disappeared. I was very glad of that, since the humid wind would have bothered it so much.
My feet had turned into the black and dark gold wheels, and I was skating beside the Autobots as we drove down the suburbs road.
Looking back, we looked pretty epic.
Gale had stuck his head out of Optimus's window and was looking to the city of Chicago, where it was being continuously blown up by the work of the Decepticons.
The afternoon light beat down on my exposed skin. Beads of sweat had formed on my bare neck and brows. Clouds puffed up the bright blue sky with their magnificent shade of white.
The city was very close now, and a worm of worry wiggled and crawled its way into my gut. What if I died? Was I meant to die? The Primes had said my destiny was to destroy the Dark Spark and end the Decepticon revolt once and for all, but will I get killed after that?
So many questions, so little time, I thought to myself. All I have to do now is fight, and fight I will.
The white, identical houses beside us were replaced with bigger, duller looking buildings. Now I knew we had entered the city.
Optimus Prime skidded to a halt, and the rest of the Autobots behind him followed suit. Gale opened the door to Optimus's truck and hopped out beside me.
Optimus immediately transformed into his robotic form, and the Autobots did the same. "Autobots!" he announced. "Today we will conquer the Decepticons once and for all!"
Then he started organizing a battle strategy, a plan of attack. I just tuned it all out. My wheels had shifted back my feet, so I wasn't balancing on wheels again.
"Audrey?" That was Gale.
He reached out a hand and squeezed my arm. "Make me a promise."
"What's that?" A small smile played on my lips.
I held my breath. I couldn't really promise that, but I will to him. "I promise I won't die."
"Good," he said, letting his arm drop to his side. "Don't forget it."
I gave him a curt nod, but he leaned in and kissed me, full-fledged. I made the kiss deeper, and we were almost making out until I heard the clearing of a throat.
We broke apart, almost making me fall, and I looked to the Autobots to see who made that noise.
They were all looking at us.
A cat-call was heard from the back. "Man, that looked like some serious business right there." I recognized Mudflap's voice.
Optimus shot him a look, then glanced back at me. "Hybrid Prime, your job is to-"
"-destroy Megatron and the Dark Spark. I already got the memo from the Primes," I said, finishing his sentence matter-of-factly.
Optimus just looked at me for a few moments, then nodded curtly and turned back to the Autobots. "Alright, Autobots," he said. "Let's go fight, for justice!"
The Autobots cheered, then shifted into their alternate forms and wheeled away. I thought I heard something from Skids, something along the lines of, "I didn't know she was a Prime..."
Optimus was the only one that stayed behind.
"Do you know where the Dark Spark is being kept?" I called up to Optimus.
He looked down at me. "No. You are going to have to find it your-"
A strong thud shook the ground, and I noticed there was a thing that landed behind me.
