Dan P.O.V.

Two weeks later.

"Dan, you ready?"

"One minute!" I finished straightening my hair and pulled on a leather jacket and met Phil in the hallway. "You're looking adorable, as ever," I told him and I wasn't lying or just saying it either.

"Thanks," he blushed then kissed me then I took his hand in mine and we left for Chris and PJ's.

Honestly, I was nervous about going over, but I tried to not let it show. I had spent the last two weeks trying to act normal which I seemed to have succeeded in doing and avoided PJ like the plague. I doubted that his feelings for me changed though but I could only hope for the best.

In the time spent with Phil, I figured out he meant a lot more to me than PJ did. I didn't want to hurt Phil, so keeping my dirty little secret from him was an absolute must; I couldn't bear the thought of him leaving me for two stupid mistakes that I totally regretted.

You didn't say you didn't enjoy it though.

Oh, shut up.

The argument continued in my head but I held Phil's hand tighter to remind myself he was still there so I could try and forget PJ, but my stomach flipped as the door of their apartment came into view. I suddenly worried about PJ telling Phil what happened between us and I started to panic.

Would he hurt Phil like that?

Would he hurt me like that?

Pathetic Dan, always thinking about yourself.

I bit my lip to suppress my tears and could only hope that he wouldn't say anything.

We were greeted by Chris at the door who was a lot better after a random depressed phase. He was smiling and talking and making jokes a lot more like he used to, but he had always been good at acting so I wasn't sure if he was just hiding behind a mask that he perfected so well.

I froze when I saw PJ emerge from his room and into the lounge but I kept hold of Phil.

"Ow! Dan! Why are you holding my hand so hard?"

"What? Oh, sorry..." I loosened my grip and smiled at him.

"The camera is all set up and ready to film in my room," he said swiftly.

"Dan, you go, I need to talk to Chris," Phil nudged me to the direction and let go.

"Uhh, okay," PJ followed me in but I forgot he was there once I stepped into it, amazed about how much his room had changed since I had last been in there.

His room was decorated with fairy lights, cushions and soft toys. A Halloween banner and a big canvas hung above his bed where the bedding was blue and squishy, making it look comfortable to sleep on. On one wall was a happy birthday banner and paintings he had done, with a bright yellow Le Chat Noir poster next to a large colourful periodic table. Lower down on the wall were drawings, posters and a mask. Underneath was a bookcase where hardback books of different colours neatly lined the shelves. On the opposite wall was a big window where the main source of light was pouring in and in the corner sat a table with a Mac, mugs filled with pens and colouring pencils and notebooks and sketchpads of different sizes were stacked on top of one another. There were also speakers with textbooks on top and lenses were placed next to a random game controller.

The room was cosy, to say the least. I awkwardly stood and PJ watched me carefully, making me nervous. I crossed my arms and avoided eye contact with him but his gaze felt like it was burning holes into skin. He quickly moved so he was in front of me, his hands at my waist.
