There is a betting pool in the school, betting how long will the students from other schools will last against the Outcast Legion, or will some teams will win against them. One person even bet that they would win the tournament. Jaune don't know who the one had such confidence.
After their training, they read for next week's exam, eating a calorie packed dinner, they rested inside their room, listening to music or reading comic. While they were resting, they remembered what Winter had told Jaune, telling him to practice his observation skill. Since it's mean the difference between victory or defeat.

Considering how powerful the Outcast Legion is, no one in the tournament is going to be able to stop them. She also told them that the reason she said that isn't because of how strong they are, it's because she have faith in them, she knew that they can, and will, win this tournament. No matter the odds.
The Arcs felt their heart warmed from Penny faith in them. Jaune did found it puzzling that Penny never once hiccuped that night.
