All that remains is to play the game of life and hope that someday I will understand the rules.

Dexter

On behalf of Joanna:

That's exactly what I was thinking right now, about just having to hope to save my soul.

- What are you doing here? - Stammering I asked, to which Oswald began to walk toward me.

- You know, I expected a lot from my son, but him leaving his wife was like a low blow to me. - He came up to me and ran his hand down my cheek.

- He didn't leave me, I was the one who asked to be alone!

- You did? And why would you do that? - He tucked a lock of my hair behind my ear.

- What do you want?

- You know the answer to your question. - He took the plaid from me and left me in my home clothes.

- If Edmund finds out, then...

- What? You think Edie can do anything to me? - He started laughing," Why don't you understand that my son is playing by my rules, and believe me, you being his wife now is all my fault. Edmund doesn't need you, he's got plenty of girls of his own, and you're just part of my pact with your father.

- But why? - I almost started crying, "Why are you telling me this? You're hurting me!

- No, honey," he ran his thumb over my lips, "I'm only telling you the truth.

- I don't believe you!

- Do you know that Edie's not alone in Los Angeles right now?

- What do you mean he's not alone?

- He's with his girlfriend Sandra, his ex-girlfriend if you ask me, and his current girlfriend if you ask me.

- I don't believe you.

- Joanna," he smiled, "do you think I'm lying to you? What if I can prove it to you?  What if Edmund is making love to Sandra right now? What would you tell me then?

- No! It can't be! - I began to cry

- But Ed didn't love you. He hasn't told you how he feels, he hasn't done anything for you, and you're crying for him.

- Please! Stop it!

- Calm down," he hugged me, and I hugged him back. I hugged him like a father, because my father would never give me that... I missed that man's shoulder.

- Stop crying," he stroked my head and we went into the hall and sat down on the couch and he started wiping my tears with his finger. - Can a beautiful girl like you cry?

- Don't lie, I'm far from as beautiful as you say I am.

- You're beautiful Joanna, any girl is beautiful, everyone has a twist that doesn't repeat itself. - He came closer and kissed me tenderly on the cheek, and from there he moved to my neck.

- Please, Oswald! - He pulled away.

- Do you remember the day we first met?

- Yes." I said, and the image of my eighteenth birthday flashed before my eyes.

- I fell in love with you then, with your ugly character and unusual beauty.

- I did a nasty thing to you. - I smiled a little and immediately blushed because I remembered that I was lying almost naked.

- You liked the way I looked at you when you were naked, didn't you?

- What do you want?

- Your confession, honey. - He ran his hand over my shoulder, and the strap of my shirt fell off my shoulder. He kissed my shoulder.
