•• Angel ••

I watched Hyorin as she walked down the sidewalk, her head hanging and her boots scuffing the ground. I felt something yank on my heart strings and shut my eyes. If only I could have gone everywhere with her. I would keep her happy for as long as I could.

"Life is unfair. I'm sort of happy I don't have to experience it," I whispered to myself with a sigh.

"Same with me." I jumped at the voice behind me and then sighed with relief. "Hey U-Kwon," Zico greeted with a tilt of his head. I stared at his white wings and then tucked my own wings in before plopping down on the edge of the building that we were on top of.

"What brings you here? You haven't been deployed," I pointed out, patting the space beside me. He tucked his wings in as well and sat beside me with a nod of agreement. "So, why are you here?"

He shrugged and said, "I guess that I got bored waiting for my chance to be deployed. How's it going with the girl?"

"Obviously not well," a voice teased from behind me. I laughed and turned to look at Taeil. "Boss," he greeted, tilting his head to Zico. "What's up U-Kwon?" Taeil seated himself on my other side and stretched his legs with a sigh.

I pursed my lips and then said, "Trying to make my way into her trust zone."

Taeil raised an eyebrow and questioned, "How's that going for you?"

I shot him a glare and then huffed, "I read a book." I handed Taeil the book that Hyorin had given me and he flipped through it quickly with disapproving clicks of his tongue. "I know. It was terrible, but I have to get on her good side if I want to able to protect her properly."

Zico snapped and stretched his hand out in front of me. Taeil handed him the book and, with slight disdain, Zico read, "'101 Starting Tips For the Design Industry and Hidden Tricks of the Trade'. U-Kwon, you can't be serious!"

"What?" I asked him somewhat defensively. "She told me to read it, so I read it!"

Taeil crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. "So if she told you jump off of a bridge, you would?"

I shrugged and then mumbled, "I would because I have wings..."

"If you didn't have wings," Zico corrected. I frowned and then slowly shook my head. "My point exactly! There's no need for you to do what she tells you to! You're here to keep her safe, not to be her reading buddy. If anything, she should be doing what you tell her to do!"

I nodded slowly, trying to figure out whether to agree or not. "Now, I don't think that's true," a voice countered from behind us.

Taeil rolled his eyes with an amused smile. "Oh great, the whole party's coming to town." I laughed waving Jaehyo over to us. He nodded slightly with a smile and seated himself beside Taeil with a groan. "Was it a long fly?"

"Oh man, I don't even want to talk about it!" Jaehyo laughed, stretching and cracking his back with a happy sigh. "So, what are we talking about?"

"I'll show you," Zico replied, standing and stretching out his wings. "Come with me if you dare!" he joked, sticking out his tongue with a wink before leaping gracefully off of the roof and catching a gust of breeze. Taeil, Jaehyo, and I followed him and we soared happily through the sky before touching down on top of a building across the street from Hyorin's 'Paesyeon Chingu'.

Jaehyo pointed at Hyorin who was shakily unlocking the door and inquired, "Her?" I nodded slowly, confirming his question. He grinned and slapped me on the back. "Nice! She's cute!"

"I know! That's why it's really hard to keep her safe!" I exclaimed, whacking the back of his head. "Do you know how hard it is for me? She's so pretty and she just shoves me off because she doesn't believe I'm an Angel!"
