So remember that case I did with the blood splatter thing like four months ago?
Well, the trial was yesterday and Anna has told everyone to not give me any details on the conviction.
Apparently, she wants to tell me herself.
I doubt Harris will bother saying anything anyway but Anna still told her to keep quiet.
She's been such a bitch since the last little experiment we did.
She can't even be alone in the same room as me and I'm honestly so confused.
Will isn't helping either, he just keeps saying she's jealous and all that bullshit.
Personally, I think it's just down to the fact that she doesn't like me.
But hey, can't please everyone right?
I actually got to drive myself to work today, Will has his first shift at Otto's.
Trust him to get a job there.
I offered to drop him but he wanted to walk for some stupid reason.
To each their own I guess.
I arrived at my desk right on time, as usual.
"Rory!" Anna called out, making her way over to me.
It's too early for this shit.
"Hey, Anna." I smiled tiredly.
"Guess what."
"What." I sighed.
"The blood splatter test you did won the case! You did it!" She squealed in excitement.
"Really?"
"Yeah you did a really good job, I never would've figured it out without you." Charlie chimed in as passed my desk on the way to his.
"Thanks, Charlie, I'm sorry if I overstepped."
"No worries, I'll get you back." He grinned.
The room went silent as Harris entered, making direct eye contact with me as she walked past.
"She's too proud to congratulate you." Anna attempted to whisper.
"I wouldn't expect anything less," I said, loud enough for her to hear.
What? I enjoy pissing her off.
"Beckett." She shouted.
Here we go.
"Coming." I huffed.
I stood in the usual spot next to her desk, waiting for Anna to come 'sort out papers' like she usually does.
Probably trying to stop Harris from being such a bitch.
Instead, I heard the door click shut and a single pair of footsteps approaching behind me.
If she didn't look so sexy when she's pissed off I would probably be scared.
"What, no chauffer today?" She asked, her voice laced in sarcasm.
"If you want to drive me places that bad then you can take me home later." I mocked.
"What is your problem?" She scoffed, taking a step closer to me.
"You're my problem."
She took two more steps toward me, making me take two steps back.
"How dare you speak to me like that." She growled.
Is she fucking serious?
I swear I almost laughed, "How dare I? How dare you. You talk to me like that every fucking day."
She took two more steps towards me, backing me up against the door. "You'd better think real carefully about what you're saying and who you're talking to."
"No. What the fuck have I done for you to hate me so damn much? I'm already doing all the extra shit you ask me to do as well as my job. What more do you want me to do?"
"You're too fucking perfect." She snapped, only inches away from me.
"I'm sorry what?"
"You're. Too. Fucking. Perfect." She spat again.
I am so fucking confused, "Is that a problem?"
"Yes."
What the fuck kinda drugs has she been taking?
"Why?"
She looked away to gain some composure, running her hands through her hair before turning back to face me.
"Beckett, I don't hate you, you excel at your job so I push you harder. But I can't stop..." She sighed, "You know what, forget it. Get out of my office. This conversation never happened."
She turned around to walk away but I grabbed her hand before she could go.
"What the fuck are you doing?" She glared.
"Just, let me get this straight..."
I let go of her hand and she leaned against her desk, waiting to listen for once.
"You can't stand me because I'm good at my job? That makes absolutely no fucking sense."
She refused to look at me, "Look, I'm not explaining myself to you. Just do your job."
I tried to get her to look at me, just so I can try and find any sense in what she was saying by her expression.
She just kept turning her head away.
Without thinking, I gently held her cheeks in both hands to get her to stay fucking still.
Even then she wouldn't make eye contact with me. At least she didn't pull away I guess.
"You can't even stand to look at me how the fuck am I supposed to believe anything you just said."
She sighed in defeat, closing her eyes for a long ass time before finally looking me in the eye.
"I can't look at you because all I want to do is kiss you." She whispered.
