The frigid days seemed to reach new depths of coldness, as if they were determined to freeze everything in their path. Even in the solace of her slumber, she couldn't escape the bone-chilling cold that permeated her room. Despite the flickering flames of her fireplace, its feeble warmth failed to thaw the icy grip that clung to her. Restlessly, she tossed and turned, desperately seeking solace within the confines of her covers. The haunting sound of her teeth chattering echoed through the room, as she clutched herself tightly, yearning for a semblance of warmth in the icy abyss of her bed.

"I can't bear this any longer...the cold is unbearable!" Jisoo exclaimed, her feet tingling with pain.

"Ah, ow...ow..."

"Damn it!" Jisoo attempted to tread barefoot towards the fireplace, desperate for a hint of warmth.

"I must instruct the maids to fetch more firewood...this feeble heat won't suffice to warm my room." Jisoo muttered, snatching a small blanket from the sofa and draping it over her shoulders. She roamed the grand mansion, searching for any signs of life. Not a soul could be found, not even in the bustling kitchen where the maids usually resided. Letting out a soft sigh, she continued her quest for assistance. Suddenly, her gaze fell upon a hidden pathway nestled within the corridors. She lowered her eyes and cautiously took a step forward. With curiosity guiding her, she ventured slowly towards the pathway, which led to a colossal wooden door. Step by step, she inched closer, yearning to uncover the secrets beyond. Just as her hand was about to make contact with the door, a deep voice from behind startled her.

Taehyung's voice cut through the silence, his tone serious and demanding. Jisoo's heart skipped a beat as she turned to face him, her bottom lip caught between her teeth in nervous anticipation.

"What are you up to?" Taehyung's question hung in the air, disbelief etched on his face. Jisoo's brows furrowed slightly, her posture straightening as she summoned the courage to respond.

"I... um... I was just... uh... looking for a maid," Jisoo stammered, her voice shaky with anxiety. Taehyung let out a half-hearted laugh, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Really?" he asked, his disbelief evident. Jisoo's frown deepened, determination flickering in her eyes as she stood her ground.

"I'm telling the truth! I... I was freezing in my room, so I went out to find a maid for more firewood," Jisoo explained, her voice filled with conviction. Taehyung's gaze briefly scanned her trembling form wrapped in a blanket. He sighed softly, a mocking smile tugging at his lips.

"Come with me," Taehyung commanded, turning to walk away. Jisoo followed closely behind, her eyes fixated on his retreating figure. She couldn't believe he was actually acknowledging her presence. As they reached the far end of the second floor, Jisoo noticed Taehyung halt in front of a door. Without hesitation, he swung it open and gestured for her to enter. Jisoo cast him a shy glance before stepping inside, her words remaining unspoken.

"You can stay here in my room!" Taehyung's voice was laced with a hint of mischief as his sloe eyes locked onto Jisoo's. Her breath caught in her throat, and she instinctively shook her head, her nerves getting the best of her.

"No! Please...I...I can stay in mine!" Jisoo's words stumbled out nervously, her heart racing. Taehyung couldn't help but chuckle at her obvious unease, finding it endearing. He closed the distance between them, his gaze unwavering as he looked into her eyes.

"I won't be staying...so you can relax! I'll be busy all night, and I won't be back until tomorrow morning. You can have the room to yourself," Taehyung reassured her, his voice gentle. Jisoo's nervous smile returned, and she nodded quickly in agreement.
