" I don't know what the hell you're talking about Zalgo, but this is good news for me." I grinned. "I'm back and I will kill you soon."

"It's cute that you think I'm going to give up on you easily."

I clenched my jaw as I felt anger run through my veins. "Why can't you leave me alone? Why have you been this obsessed over me!"

"You still don't remember, huh?" He placed a hand on my forehead with a grin on his face.

The seven-year-old sat patiently on her bed as she waited for the demon to make his appearance. After she almost jumped off the cliff, he told her to wait for him. He would make his final appearance before he fell into his ten-year slumber.

"I'm surprised you're awake" he whispered, sitting beside her. He only had three minutes left before he was forced to return to the underworld.

"You told me to wait for you," she reminded him. "Plus it's the last time I get to see you."

He nodded his head as he moved his gaze toward the dark sky through the window. There had been no clouds to cover the beautiful moon.

"Don't you have a family to say your goodbyes to?"

Zalgo returned his gaze to her. "No, I don't."

"No wonder why you've always been grumpy. If you had kids, they would make you nicer."

"I can't have kids. Well, only one person can carry them, but I still don't know if she is the last of her kind."

The girl tilted her head in confusion. "You never know, if it's true love then she will."

Zalgo rolled his eyes at the girl's oblivious behavior. "You've been watching too many Disney movies with Splendor. Love doesn't exist, humans are together because it emotionally or financially benefits them."

"You only think that because you probably had bad experiences."

Zalgo raised his eyebrow. "I've lived for centuries, little one. Trust me, I've seen it happen multiple times."

"You should still try it," she insisted. "She may be different."

A small smile plastered on Zalgo's face as he ran his fingers through her hair. She was shocked that he had been gentle with her.

"What about friends," she broke the silence.

"I've never had friends," he answered, still playing with her hair.

"But I'm your friend."

Zalgo raised his eyebrows in amusement. "Despite me torturing you with nightmares daily and almost killing Slender several times, you still consider me a friend?"

"You taught me how to use weapons and were patient with me when Slenderman was angry at me," she pointed out. "Plus you look like you need someone in your life."

Zalgo silently chuckled before glancing at the clock. He had exactly a minute left with the child before he falls asleep and woke up in ten years. He will no longer witness her grow. She'll be exactly eighteen when he returns.

"What do you do when you're asleep?"

He focused on her facial features, trying to remember them as he answered, "I dream, but I also think about the future and my plans."

"What plans are you going to think about?"

"How I get the girl to be mine and get powerful at the same time."
