A/N. This is the bracelet that Bellamy gives to Clarke during the wedding.
Bellamy POV
The sun had just set and the moon was rising. It was twilight and the festival was already getting underway when Lexa stepped forward and signalled for the drummers to quiet everyone for the joining ceremony.
Lincoln and I stood at the front, one on each side of Lexa. Abby stood next to Lexa. As Chancellor she would perform part of this unique ceremony also.
Everyone got quiet and I felt my gaze drawn beyond the crowd that was assembled. I felt myself holding my breath when I caught sight of Jake Griffin standing between two of the most important women in my life.
Octavia was beautiful, but I truly only had eyes for my princess. My jaw dropped.
She was stunning.
Her shimmery blue dress matched her eyes. It fit her curves perfectly and was trimmed in silver. Her hair was braided around her face on one side with a silver and blue ribbon while the rest fell in soft golden waves around her shoulders.
I closed my mouth and my heart started to beat faster as our eyes locked and never faltered once in the forever it took for her to walk through the crowd to stand by my side.
Both girls kissed their dad on the cheek and he stepped back and took a seat while Lincoln and I stepped forward and grabbed their hands.
As we stood facing each other I was again startled by her eyes. They were lined with black, but in a much more subtle way than the usual grounder war paint. The black made the blue of her eyes pop. There was also some shimmering gold powder on her lids that was equally mesmerizing. Her lips were a soft pink.
It was hard to concentrate on what was being said while staring into those gorgeous eyes. I really couldn't wait until we were alone.
Octavia and Lincoln must have finished their vows because Abby was looking at us and Clarke finally squeezed my hand urging me to speak.
"Bellamy" Abby prompted again with a smile.
I took a deep breath, "Clarke, I love you with all of my heart. Since before we landed on earth I never understood how a princess could be strong until I met you.
We have fought with each other, for each other, together against outsiders and did our best together, to protect our people.
You challenge me constantly and it makes me a better man. Together we have forged new friendships, alliances and built a community that our people can be proud of.Today I promise to continue to do all of that and more. I promise to take care of you. I will always protect you. I will always fight for you. I will never give up on you. I will always be there when you need me. I will always love you and our family. Together we are stronger, we just don't work apart and I promise to remind you of this everyday.
You will always be my Princess."
When I finished I could see a sparkle in Clarke's eyes as the gravity of my words set in. She smiled at me before she started to speak.
"Bellamy, I love you with all of my heart. When we first landed on earth we fought over everything.
A lot. I thought you were just another dangerous criminal. A rebel. In spite of it all, I have always trusted you with my life, and now with my heart and our future family. I know you will care for us, provide for us and protect us and I promise to do the same for you. I will continue to tell you when you are wrong and I will never back down from any challenge you throw at me.
I will remind you everyday why I am your Princess and you will always be my Rebel."
She finished with a shaky voice trying not to cry. I squeezed her hand.Lexa stepped forward to perform the Grounder portion of the ceremony.
"Clarke, Octavia, please present your mate's with their tokens." Lexa gestured.
I looked down as Clarke slipped a black, braided leather bracelet on my left wrist.
It had a yellow orange Sunstone woven into it. She smiled at me when she was done."Bellamy, Lincoln" Lexa prompted.
I took a delicately woven silver bracelet and slipped it over Clarke's wrist. It had a Moonstone at the center and another blue stone that matched her eyes, on the side. The stone shone softly in the growing moonlight.
Next we each drank some wine from the same cup to signify that we now share life's cup of sweetness and sorrow. As we looked overhead the moon had risen above the trees.
It was a large, beautiful blue moon.
"These joinings are now sacred and binding as witnessed by all tonight!" Lexa decreed.
"You may kiss your brides!" Abby announced with a grin.
I closed my eyes and kissed Clarke, trying unsuccessfully to mask my eagerness. When we pulled apart we heard a few gasps.
We looked around startled.
The stones in our bracelets were glowing!
