Kori sat with her grandma laying against her waiting to see if her mom was okay. She never witnessed her dad get so upset and he hurt her mother she probably won't make it out alive and her dads in jail so her grandma would be the only person to take her, she was okay with that but she wouldn't have any parents and her grandma had stage 1 of cancer it isn't as bad yet but It'll get worse over the years.

She was only 7 years old why should she be experiencing this so young her childhood hasn't ended yet. Her mind was pure blank she wasn't listening to anything around her she just wanted her mom.

"Hi, Mrs. Noelle" Serena greeted slowly approaching Kori and her grandma in hand with Semaj.

"Hi cupcake, how you doing?" She asked politely standing up and giving her a small hug.

"I'm fine, how are you?" Serena asked causing her to laugh a little.

"I'm doing are you handsome?" She asked looking at Semaj.,

"I'm fine" he answered with a smile before shifting his eyes to Kori.

"Hi, Kori you okay baby?" Serena asked as she slowly nodded.

"She'll get through it she's just in shock right now," Mrs. Noelle said as Semaj sat down next to Kori grabbing onto her hand.

He's never really seen Kori sad it was honestly making him sad.

They sat down just waiting for the doctor to come out but Serena got a text from an unknown number.

Watch out.

She scrunched her face up before turning her phone off she wasn't up for the bullshit today she was already stressing herself out enough about everything she didn't need anything else pilling up on top of her.

Little did she know a bullet already had her name on it just patiently waiting for it to get into use.

"Gigi I wanna play football," Semaj said causing her to slightly laugh.

"That's what you're thinking about right now?" She asked as they headed out of the hospital.

"Yea," he said in a dull tone, he watched his best friend cry and scream for her mother after finding out she was gone he didn't want that replaying in his mind so thinking of something else helped him stop thinking about it.

"So when did you decide you wanted to try for football again?" She asked curiously.

At 5 years old he told his mother he wanted to play football after seeing the UCLA Bruins play he knew he wanted to go there and play in the NFL, but his mother crushed his spirit by telling him he wouldn't make it far or ever be recruited onto a team like that so he didn't bother asking her again.

"Momma never let me try but will you let me I want to?" he said as he went on both sides getting into the car.

"Yes ill let you play I'm not holding you back from something you want to do okay," she said as he nodded.
