Percy Jackson walked into school that day feeling confident. He had amazing friends, had many college options, and a long time girlfriend whom he was seeing for the first time in over a week. Today was going to be a good day. 

Walking down the hallway, he saw a flash of fiery red hair: Rachel, his girlfriend. He strolled youp to her and whispered "Hey babe" in her ear. He expected her to turn around and hug him, but all he got was a look of pity. 

"Hey Percy." she said. "We need to talk." That couldn't be good. 

Rachel led Percy to the courtyard, and he noticed she had a new tattoo on her back. Before Percy could stare for too long, Rachel pulled Percy over to a bench and started talking.

"So, you know how I went to Miami for spring break? Well I went to this totally cool party and I was dancing and I like almost fell but some dude caught me. And well we kissed and went out for like the whole week and on the last day, we got tattoos to remember our love! See? Its a lion! Because Luke, thats his name, called me a lion because of my lions mane. Well he has the most beautiful eyes and he's like totally rich since he was on this TV show that you probably have never heard of since you are like totally not as cool as Luke. Well, he was a really awesome dude! But, anyways, I am breaking up with you." Rachel babbled without taking a breath. 

"You're breaking up with me?" Percy asked.

"Aww you totally expected us to be together for forever." she squealed as she patted his cheek. "Well tata!" she waved as she strutted off. 

"Dude!" shouted a voice across the courtyard. Jason, who was with Leo, Frank, and Kronos. Kronos was like this really intimidating guy whose real name was Darryl. "You got dumped!" exclaimed Leo.

"What a loser!" shouts Kronos.

"Are you okay?" asks Frank. "Do you need a hug?" 

"Yeah I got dumped. And I'm actually kind of relieved. I was planning on dumping her." Percy explained.

"Haha. Sure. If you are so sure, then you will do this bet." smirks Kronos.

"Hit me dude." Percy laughs.

"I dare you to give any girl of our choosings a glow up, and then turn her into the prom queen. who ever loses has to go naked to graduation."

"Deal. Now who is the lucky girl?" asks Percy. The guys go in a group huddle and talk. Once they turn around, they announce the worst girl in school. Annabeth Chase. 

Annabeth Chase was not by any standards Prom Queen material. She had bushy blonde hair, which was constantly in a ponytail, big silver glasses, always had her face in a book, and her back was constantly hunched over because of how many books her in her bag. She wasn't exactly ugly but she was far from beautiful. 

"Now go work your magic, Lover Boy." laughs Leo. Percy glares at them and walks away to Calculus, one of the classes Annabeth shared with him. As he enters the room, he sees her golden bushy hair. He strides up to her and pushes the book out of her hands onto the table. 

"Hey." Percy whispers. Annabeth glares at him and turns back to her book. "I was wondering if-"

"Annabeth's head shoots up and she just stares at him. "I am not your rebound." 

"But-" Percy tries to explain.

"I don't care about whatever lame excuse you are about to give. Now leave me alone." she says without looking up from her book. 

"Wh-" he starts.

"Hello class! Open up to chapter 11 and start working on the problems given." says Mr. Brunner with a smile.
