Mesmerizing: that was the word that hovered around Vanessa's mind as she gazed down at the faraway ground. She sat on the luxurious seat, her eyes wide in wonder, as the deep blue ocean stretched out beneath her at thirty-eight thousand feet.

The car ride to the private airport had been a blur, as Vanessa had been in a state of drowsy confusion until a hushed whisper from Angelo had awoken her. But now, as she looked around the exquisitely designed jet, she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the opulence of her surroundings.

The cream-colored interior of the plane was adorned with hints of gold, and the luxurious furnishings and decorations seemed fit for royalty. As she settled into her seat, she realized that the entire plane was larger than her own house, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease and wonder at the same time.

Her gaze drifted over to the golden bar, which seemed to glimmer with a dangerous allure, and she couldn't help but feel a shiver run down her spine. As she looked out of the polished windows, she realized that the colossal airport outside was now just a distant memory, and she was hurtling through the sky at breakneck speeds.

But it was the table in the middle of the plane that truly took her breath away. The most delectable dishes she had ever seen were laid out before her, and she couldn't help but wonder if this was all just an elaborate dream

Felicity's grip on Vanessa's hand tightened as anxiety and excitement mingled inside her. She tried to offer comfort with her other hand, but her own fears were overwhelming.

Her father and brothers sat across from them, their gazes piercing into Vanessa's soul. Dr. Reese's presence only added to the tension in the air.

The plane began to move forward, and Vanessa's breath caught in her throat. The air hostess came around, but her smile didn't ease Vanessa's unease.

Heart thumping in fear, Vanessa squeezed her mother's hand as her breathing slowly accelerated.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

She repeated the mantra in her head as the jet gave one last roar before blasting down the runway and lifting off. Almost instantly, a buoyant feeling erupted within her and her previous fear vanished as if she imagined it.

She gazed down as the private airport slowly diminished from view.

"Vanessa, you need to rest," Felicity said, concerned. "The doctors suggested you take it easy for a couple of days."

Rest? Absolutely fucking not.

The view was just breathtaking that Vanessa would have killed herself if she missed.

There was no way that she would bypass the moment of her first time on an extravagant plane with her family. She stared at Felicity, feeling slightly awkward.

Xander cut her off with a laugh. "Vanessa, calm down! We will take you all around the world if you want to."

Angelo's lips curved into a smug smile. "We can. We have all the time in the world, and we're not afraid to use it."

She froze.

Spending her life with someone that loved and cared about her was something that she only imagined. Never expected it to become reality. Her life with Amberly diminished her spirit and hope.

Felicity hugged her tight. "We will have the rest of our lives to do whatever we want and not just travel the globe."

A warm, fuzzy feeling erupted in Vanessa's chest. A couple of days ago, escaping her aunt seemed impossible, but now, she found her new family-a new life.
