Chapter 5

[Third pov - Tuesday morning]

Ranboo woke up to the front door closing. It wasn't a slam, and it didn't wake Riley, but Ranboo was a light sleeper. He got up and left for the bathroom. He brushed his teeth, then saw the notification "tubbo just told me YOU HAVE A SISTER?!" from Tommy in his phone. He switched it off instantly, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. He wiped his face with a towel and went downstairs. His father had left, to God knows where - but most probably the bar again. It was early but it wasn't unusual for his dad to do so.

Ranboo noticed that the food was still left out from last night. Definitely spoilt. He picked up the note he wrote yesterday, there was a "I dont think I fucking will" written below it. He didn't want the food to go to waste and he wasn't a hundred percent sure it was spoilt. He was lying to himself, he knew it was. He takes some food, hoping it hadn't gone bad. It definitely had. It was sour and gross. He throws the food away hesitantly, feeling guilty for wasting it.

Ranboo opened his Spotify and went to Tubbo's account. He clicked on the playlist "Chill Songs 2" and put it on shuffle; hearing "comethru" by Jeremy Zucker play through his phone's speaker.

Ranboo took out a box of Fruit Loops cereal from one of the cupboards. Fruit Loops are Riley's favourite, Ranboo never understood why but she always looked full of joy when she ate it. He grabbed a clean bowl from the dish rack and a carton of milk from the fridge. He pours the milk after the cereal, and puts everything back to where they belong. He covered the bowl of cereal with a clean paper plate, then places a spoon on top of it.

He wakes Riley up, asking if she wants to be downstairs since their dad isn't home. She agrees.

"Can you make me hot chocolate while I brush my teeth?" Riley asked, sitting up.

"Okay."

Ranboo got up and fluffed the displaced sheet. Riley giggled when it floated against her face, making Ranboo chuckle along. He receded back to the kitchen.

After making a cup of hot chocolate, Ranboo lets "Best Friend" by Rex Orange County play in the background while he replies to Tommy's instagram DM. Tommy was active on Instagram, so Ranboo prepared himself for a whole conversation.

i checked with everyone else, they cant do it after noon so itll be morning for them and 2am for us

[Ranboo's pov]

I'd have to stream at 2am since I live in the US, but so will Tommy and Techno. It's so funny that Tommy, Wilbur, Techno and Phil live in the same house together in the US but we never visit or hang out often. They're so close yet so far. Tommy was adopted by Phil when he was 13 so he thinks of Phil more like a friend than a parent.

I wish I could think of my Dad as my friend but he was barely even a father figure to me and Riley.

Techno and Wilbur were born on the same day, but they weren't biologically related. They got adopted by Phil when they were five. We knew all of this specific details but all their fans knew were only that they lived together. They didn't know SBI were actually a family.

The music stopped for a few seconds before changing to "Sunshine" by khai dreams. Riley walked down the staircase, greeting me with a happy yet sleepy smile. I switched off my phone and let her eat her breakfast. We can worry about having a perfect family next time.
