Countdown: Bob Floyd X Reader

Chapter 9

1 day until Bob leaves.

He leaves tomorrow.

Standing in the shower I let the water run over me trying to wash away the sick feeling in my stomach that today could be the last day I ever see Bob. Starting to feel tears well up in my eyes I abruptly  turn off the water and step out of the shower getting ready for the day. After changing I went into the bathroom to brush my hair, noticing multiple small love bites along my neck and collarbone. I rub my fingers over them trying to make them go away, looking at my watch I knew I wouldn't have time to cover them up with makeup. So I settled with putting Bob's sweatshirt on, looking in the mirror I could still see one spot peaking out, defeated I went to put on my jewelry and couldn't find my promise ring. Looking in the covers, under the pillows and bed I still couldn't find it, I decided to leave this for later so I wouldn't be late to see Bob.

Walking into the bay where we had lunch earlier I see Bob talking to Hangman, Rooster, and Coyote. Nervously I walk up to them "Hey boys" I say, they all turn around to greet me "Oh hey Y/N" Rooster says waving I smile at him before turning my gaze to Bob. I notice something silver hanging from his neck, its a chain that wasn't there before. Following the chain down I see something hanging on the end and the realization of what it is hits me.

It's my ring.

He must have taken it from my hand when I was sleeping. I look up to meet his eyes, the cockiest smirk plastered on his face. Walking up to him he kisses me on the forehead and I put my arm around him, "What are you guys up to?" I ask the group.

"Oh we are just talking about the mission and our plans for when we come back" Coyote says.

"Rumor has it Floyd here is sticking around for you" Rooster says playfully hitting Bobs shoulder. Laughing I look up at Bob to defend him before I hear Hangman yell and point at my neck "Oh shit Bob you marked her up good didn't you?" he starts to laugh.

My face turns bright red from embarrassment, moving my arm from Bob so I can cover my neck not wanting anyone else to see. "Oh shut the hell up Hangman you're just jealous" Bob smacks his shoulder before grabbing my hand and pulling me away.

"Shit I'm really sorry about that" Bob looks at me with a sad look. I frown hating to see him so sad "It's alright don't worry about it like you said he's just jealous I'm not his girlfriend". A pit settles in my stomach realizing what I just said.

"Oh so you're my girlfriend now huh?" Bob looks at me raising an eyebrow "I kind of like the sound of that".

Laughing I try to defend myself  "Well I'm not the one with my promise ring around their neck" i replying pulling at the chain on his neck.

"I like to think of it as your virginity ring actually" Bob says pulling the neckless out of my hands. Gasping I hit him in the chest "Robert Floyd, I can't believe you just said that" giggling I look at him grinning from ear to ear.

Bob came over to my house later in the day, luckily he was able to get the night free for me. Laying in bed cuddling with the blankets covering our bodies Bob rubs my back "You're really gorgeous Y/N, I don't tell you enough but you really are beautiful". Smiling I look up at him trying to keep my eyes open. "And I don't tell you enough how handsome you are" I tell Bob yawning.

He kisses me on the forehead "You really need to get some sleep" he tells me for the third time tonight. "No" I say protesting "the sooner I fall sleep the sooner you leave and I want to say goodbye before you go". Bob looks at me frowning "I promise to wake you up before I leave, but please you need to get some sleep". Knowing Bob was right I relaxed resting my head on Bobs chest, holding tighter to him hoping if I hold him hard enough he can't leave.
