This morning I woke up feeling weird. It didn't feel like my birthday. It felt like another day, just going by.

Today I was 18 years young.

I smiled thinking about it.  I had always wanted to be grown. To be legal, but all that excitement died down.

I looked at my phone, I had 30 stinking text messages, from people telling me happy birthday. As I went through them, I couldn't help but feel disappointed that Dominick hadn't sent me one.

Everyday I've gotten a call from him. Or everyday at school he's tried to talk to me. It took every little effort on my part not to give into him. I loved him the same, and it was hard not to go back to him. For right now I needed to think about me.

I confided in him too much. I depended on him too much, and that's why I think I need a break. For my own sake. It wasn't healthy that he was constantly on my mind, and that I started to love him more than anything.

Today I was suppose to be going to the mall with Mickey. I knew she probably had something under her sleeve. Her and Kayla have been some real sneaky mofos. I honestly hope they're not trying to give me a party. I honestly don't want anything big or nothing.

Plus, tomorrow was my mother's wedding, and I didn't want to take anything away from that. I brushed my teeth and got ready for the mall with Mick.

As soon as I opened my door I could smell breakfast down stairs. My mom hasn't said anything to me about my birthday, and I honestly didn't really think about it twice. I know some people would have probably been mad, but I forgot my own damn self so it was all good.

I walked down stairs, to the kitchen to see Tony and my mom. Tony was feeding my mom some food and I couldn't help but smile at how cute they were.

"Goodmorning." I said.

"Hey! Goodmorning love." Tony said smiling at me. He looked over at my mom, and as if they had rehearsed it they started singing happy birthday to me.

My cheeks hurt from smiling so much, and I honestly didn't know I'd care so much that they'd remember.

"Thank you guys," I said cheesing up a storm.

Me, Tony, and my mom ate breakfast like a family, and it was honestly the first time I felt that here. Tony was perfect for my mom and I think I'm almost as excited as them about the wedding.

"So about your presents."

"Mom, I don't reallly need anything."

"I guess it's too late for that then."

My mom sprinted upstairs and I could feel myself starting to get excited. I knew whatever they were going to get me, had to be big.

My mom came down stairs with two small boxes.

"Okay, open this one first."

I opened the small box, and found a platinum credit card.

No. The. Hell. They. Didn't.

All I heard was my scream. There was like no limit on this mofo.

"I can not believe you guys!" I gave both of them hugs and focused on the other box.

In it, were keys to a Mercedes benz. I swore my blood pressure rose a hell of a lot.

"OH MY GOD!" they went above and beyond. Too above and beyond. Almost to the point where I couldn't accept it.. but I knew I was blessed and I damn sure was gonna be spending big money at the mall with Mickey. I thanked them some more and went off in my new white mercedes benz.
