"We'll see, Love." Y/N was simply responding to him, giving him the just-smile-and-nod notion so she can stay collected in times of uncomfortable situations like this. Especially now when they were continuously overlapping each other's voices.

"If you just let me explain for, like, two seconds..."

"... Or there's this Cow Henge. That's a-- Don't.." Five grinned at him with excitement. Seeing him trying to enjoy the trip made Y/N feel bad now. It's the first time she ever saw him looking forward and open to living his life as he pleases. "Come on."

Before he can continue any further, Klaus snapped. "Listen to me. Just shut up for two seconds, okay?" He requested, causing Y/N to slowly and awkwardly lean back to her seat, turning away from the conversation and went back to watching the clouds and the trees go by.

"Just two seconds? All right?" Klaus repeated.

Number Five's smile faltered a little bit as he folded down his map. Maybe Klaus have better plans to suggest for this trip, he thought. With that mindset, he chose to hear what he has to say. "Okay, I'm all ears." He kept up with the enthusiasm with the way he replied to his brother. But the look on his face had already intimidated Klaus.

Avoiding eye contact from the boy, he focused on the road. From that moment, he started, "We are going to Pennsylvania to find.." he paused for a dramatic effect. Five already didn't like where his announcement was going. "... my birth mother!" He exclaimed a "Yay!" To try and lighten his mood. The Unseen also hoped Five would understand.

"Excuse me?" Much to their dismay, Five found himself getting appalled by this news. Y/N can hear the build-up of the fury just from the way he responded to it.

Although her eyes weren't on the scene, it made her wince as Klaus immediately attempted to smooth things over with an apology. "I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry." He said. "I just needed some people to come with me for emotional support." He excused.

"Oh, emotional support, like a Schnauzer?" Number Five rebuked. He turned to the back, Y/N's head still turned away to the other direction with her eyes closed, hoping that she wasn't gonna get involved. "And you know about this, Y/N?" Alas, he did.

Y/N turned to him with her hand raised up, begging to differ from his judgement. "Hey, he also attempted to trick me into this. But you know damn well people can't escape me with lies." She defended herself. "Not to mention, you didn't ask me." The last line made Five scoff and roll his eyes.

"And I knew you wouldn't come if I told you, so what was I supposed to do?" Klaus stammered out.

"You're goddamn right I wouldn't have come, Klaus. You know why? Because I am supposed to be retired!" Five's voice started to rise up as he emphasized the very cause as to why he was with him in the first place. Klaus could only sigh as he continued to drive the car. "I know, I know."

"This was supposed to be a carefree road trip!" The boy sneered at his brother. Of course he wasn't getting a worry-free vacation. How was he surprised?

"Oh, come on. It can still be one." Y/N said to him, calming him down. She gently placed her hand on his shoulder once more in a comforting way. "Klaus is just gonna meet his mother and we'll wait for him for a bit, then we'll have the whole day afterwards, okay?" She compromised to the boy.

He was already willing to give in to the offer when all of a sudden, he saw a signage that gave them a direction to a popular road attraction. "Ball of Twine?" He read, "Klaus, turn!"
