Tommy had finished another one of his boring mining trips, just so he could have a bit of warm food and a more efficient way to get more stuff that would just be destroyed in another day.
He was in his little secret room, packing some of the more important things in his chests to hide away for another few days.
He didn't want to be stuck in this loop again.
He didn't know what time it was, which was actually kind of scaring him. He had been mining since early in the morning, before sunrise, and didn't seem to check or remember where the sun was in the sky as he came back, the fatigue taking over.
"Tommy!" He heard faint yelling outside of his bunker. His heart picked up as he scrambled to climb the ladder and peek out the trapdoor.
"Tom-! Tommy?" Dream stopped in front of the boy as he pulled himself out, wide-eyed staring between them.
"He-..hey, Dream."
"Mind to tell me what you were doing?"
Tommy couldn't find words, standing awkwardly before Dream. He didn't start moving until Dream did, as the man pushed passed him to the trapdoor.
"It's- it's nothing! Don't-" he tried to beg, Dream already opening the hatch and closing it behind him. Tommy was afraid to open it again, but forced himself to do so as he awaited the lecture.
He saw Dream searching through the chest, pulling out the things he would normally take. He knew Tommy was behind him, grabbing out a pickaxe from one of the chests as he turned around.
"We're you hiding stuff from me?" Dream accused. Tommy tried to speak, only to get cut off. "What were you planning to do with these, Tommy? Hurt me, your friend? Were you gonna run away? Who would you even go, Tommy? I am your only friend, the only one who cares about you, and you go and hide things?"
Tommy was speechless, only able to mumble out incoherent unfinished sentences as Dream stepped closer to him.
He dropped the pickaxe, taking out another weapon, that special fucking axe, and threatened Tommy by placing it by his side, prohibiting exiting from the boy.
"Please, Dream, it's not-"
Before he could finish, not that he knew what he would say, he was pushed back into the corner with the blade at his throat. He closed his eyes and prayed Dream would let him off.
"Tommy, we've gone through this again and again," Dream started, his voice starting to get higher like he was sad about it. "but you come here and- and what? Plan to kill me? To run away and go back to them?"
"Drea- Dream, no. It's not like that, please. Just- please..I swear I wasn't planning anything." Tommy cried out, pleading. His hands grasped at the wall, trying for anything that could help him out, but Dream just pressed in more, making it hard for Tommy to breath.
Dream took away the axe, Tommy gasping in air only for it to be taken away as Dream hit his stomach hard with his axe.
Tommy toppled over himself, hugging tightly at his chest as he heaved in breaths of air. His nails dug into his sides and he held back tears, only blaming himself.
You dumbass! Why were you hiding things? You knew this would happen. You knew he would get mad and do this. He's your one and only friend and you betrayed him.
"Tommy, drop your stuff."
"Wha- what?" He was confused, looking up at the man. Tommy hadn't fully heard what he said, his own mind louder than what Dream was saying.
