~Chapter 3~

It didn’t take long before Tessa found herself spellbound by Bron’s charm. She had to admit she just broke her first rule; never stay in one place to long with any man. Still Tessa continued to talk to him, as they took a seat on a bench outside the hotel. She couldn’t help the fact that Bron made her laugh and captivated her with every word he spoke. So far she could see that this man followed his own path in life, and his confidence and arrogance drew her to him. Now in Tessa’s line of work, she typically stayed clear of any like Bron, for they were a dangerous distraction.

Instantly, Bron could admit he was taken with Tessa. Hell she was a sexy little kitten that knew how to work her curves. Still there was a mystery about her that he was dying to get to the bottom of. She had a protective shield up, something he was dying to break down. True, Bron was used to the female species falling all over him, trying to get into this pants anyway they could. Even though he could tell Tessa was interested in him, he knew that she was different. He’d have to work hard to capture her heart.  He was up for the challenge.

They sat there continuing to talk the night away; as minutes turned to hours. Before long the bar started to close down as patrons filed out of the hotel.

Thankfully, Trina and Amber were used to Tessa up and leaving without notice; so they didn’t question her absence. Neither girl knew what Tessa did for a living. They were told she was a consultant of some type, so they figured Tessa would call them in the morning, apologizing for abandoning them one again. So they were both surprised to see Tessa sitting there talking to handsome hotel clerk.

“Tessa, what the hell?” Trina called out.

“We thought you left us again, and here you are with the hotel hottie.” Amber slurred.

Tessa spun around looking at her friends. She’d been caught red handed in Bron’s presence. She knew that she’d never live it down. She could help by laugh to herself, they knew her to well. It was common knowledge she didn’t give most men a chance, even if she found something intriguing about them.

“Oh, hi. I was just coming in to find you all.” Tessa lied? "Shouldn’t we call a cab and head home?”

“No need to call a cab my ladies. My car is just around the corner, so let me run inside and grab my things and I’ll take you all where ever you need to go.” Bron replied.

“Bron, there is no need. We can call a cab.” Tessa interrupted him.

“Tessa don’t be silly. We’d love to have your new friend take us home.” Amber giggled.

“Yesss… Tessa. We’d love a ride.” Trina added her two cents.

Bron smiled, and winked at the girls. “One moment ladies, for your chariot awaits,” as he head back inside the hotel.

Tessa was pissed. Granted she wanted Bron, but the last thing she was planning to do was allow him to take her home. “What the hell do you two think you are doing? You know damn well you don’t take rides from strange men.” Tessa hissed at her friends.

“Oh Tessa, lighten up. He seems harmless, plus we can see you’re smitten with that hunky piece of man flesh.” Trina giggled.

“Yeah, what she said.” Amber continued. “Plus you sound like an old priss with that remark. Don’t take rides from strange men?  What are you 80?”

“Don’t start with me, either of you.” Tessa spat. “You know damn well I…”

“Now my beauties follow me to your chariot.” Bron interrupted, giving them a regal bow.
