"Y-you? B-but..." I choked, tears coming out, my mind overwhelmed. How long has he been following me?!
"Sh, darling, it's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you, okay?" He asked, looking in my eyes, I nodded, "I knew your parents would probably get sick. I wanted to have you as my daughter or little sister so bad. There is something very special about you, Mary. I moved around your foster parents' home, guessing you'd eventually run away. You're so predictable, like an open book. But I'd never hurt you. If you want to leave, I understand," he said, the last part quieter. The man might be nuts, but it's better than the School.
"Will you stay?" He begged, and I nodded reluctantly.
"But if you do anything to hurt me on purpose physically, I will leave," I said in a very serious tone.
"I won't, I promise," he promised, and it reminded me of my father's broken promise.
"So, I guess you're my father or older brother?" I inquired, assuming older brother, he looks too young to be a father.
"Brother," he said, and I finished my spaghetti.
"Does you roommate know about any of this?" I asked, and he nodded, cleaning the dishes.
"Yes, he's your older brother too. I've planned everything, princess," he coaxed. What's up with him and the nicknames? Michael, his roommate, then walked in.
