Ethan

Saturday was starting off as normal as it could be.

Breakfast and the stay in the room all day because that's where we feel the safest.

Days are still hard. Flavia still cries every night and I have break down after she falls asleep.

Most of the time I call Kendra. She's always there for me.

Around lunchtime was when everything happened. Flavia was taking a nap and I was texting Kendra when there were multiple sounds of doors being broken into.

"Shhh, Princess. It's ok," I cover Flavia's mouth as she startles awake and starts to cry.

"It's ok," I whisper as I hear multiple footsteps coming up the stairs.

Suddenly the door is swung open and 3 police officers in swat uniform enter

"We found the children," One says into a walkie

"Come with us. Everything's safe," He then says

I pick up Flavia and hesitantly leave the room. At the same time my birth father is being escorted out of his bedroom with cuffs on, followed by Lisa.

Their rights are being read to them after hearing what they're being arrested for.

When we get outside there's millions of cop cars and trucks sitting in the driveway of the house. Officers go into the house and some come out.

"Ethan, Flavia."

I turn around and see our parents at the edge of the drive way.

"Daddy!" Flavia leaves my arms and we both run to them

"My babies. My beautiful angels," I'm engulfed in my dad's arms

"I missed you guys," I cry

"We missed you so much more," I hear dad sniffle

"Mommy," Flavia pulls away and mom picks her up

"I missed you two," mom cries when we hug her

"Can we go home now?" I ask

"Yes we can. We can go home."

______________

"It's gonna take months for the adoption to finalize but we know for sure that both Mr. Ahmed and Ms. Del Campo are going to jail and you'll be back in Damien and Adriana's care permanently."

"That's good," Dad says

"Yes it is. I'll keep you updated once I find out more, alright?" Melanie asks over the phone

"Ok. Thanks, have a good evening."

"You too, bye now," Dad hangs up the phone

"That's good news," Mom says

"Great news," I agree, tiredly

Flavia and I sat in the police station all day for no reason. Dad had to sign a few papers but they kept telling us not to leave. Until they finally did hours later.

"Bedtime. I think everyone is tired," dad says

Flavia's already out in his arms, I'm leaning against mom and Jamiah's asleep on the other couch.

He was up all day waiting for us to come home. And the tears probably got to him, making him tired.

"Can you take, Flavia? I'm gonna carry Jamiah upstairs," Dad asks mom

"Yeah," Mom gets up and takes Flavia. "Come on, Ethan."

I groggily get up and walk upstairs.

Mom goes to Flavia's room and I go into mine, flopping down on the bed.

My nice, soft, memory foam, bed. I don't remember changing into my pyjamas, just turning off my bedroom light and attempting to go to sleep.

I toss and turn, trying to get comfortable but I keep fighting my sleep.

After what feels like hours of tossing and turning I decide to lay on my back and look around the darkness of my room.

"Prince Ethan?" I hear a small knock and the voice of my little sister

I get off my bed and go to the door, opening it.

"What's wrong, Princess?" I ask picking her up, she rests her head on my shoulder and I walk back into my room

"I had a dream and now I can't sleep," She says

"What was the dream?" I question

"People... touching me. And not stopping," she sniffles

"It's ok, princess," I rub her back

"I was gonna go in mommy and daddy's room. Want to come?" I ask her and she nods

I walk us out of my room and towards our parents room

I knock on the door and hear dad's voice.

I open the door and walk in.

"Can we sleep in here?" I question

"Of course," dad nods and I place Flavia onto the bed

She immediately crawls over to mom, who's asleep and curls up beside her.

I climb onto the bed and lay down beside dad.

Sleep comes quicker, especially when he kisses the top of my head and pats my back.
