Lezione 30-Numeri da 101 a 1000

36 2 0

Che bravo/a/ bravi/e che sei tornato/a siete tornati/e!

Well done for coming back! :) (Lit.: how good you are that you returned!) As you can see, the 'che' is used differently in the same sentence. In the first case, as 'how' for emphasising something (how tasty! che buono!), whereas in the second case, as 'that/for'-relative pronoun.

Here's a quick lesson on the numbers from 101 to 1000.

*********************

100-cento (that's why you say '50 cents' in English :3)

101-centouno

102-centodue

103-centotré

104-centoquattro

146-centoquarantasei

200-duecento

201-duecentouno

202-duecentodue

297-duecentonovantasette

300-trecento

301-trecentouno

303-trecentotré

400-quattrocento

500-cinquecento

600-seicento

700-settecento

800-ottocento

900-novecento

1000-MILLE

EVVIVA! (Yay!)

How to use them:

Simple: write the hundred (quattrocento) followed by the unit/ten (uno/dodici).

Example: 777-Settecento+settanta+sette= settecentosettantasette

213-duecento+tredici= duecentotredici

869-ottocento+sessanta+nove= ottocentosessantanove

If a number already ends with a vowel, like 'cento' and the number following it begins with the same or with any vowel, simply eliminate the first of the two vowels:

Ex.: Cinquecentoottanta=WRONG! Remove either one of the zeros: Cinquecentottantatré.

Seicentocinquantaotto=WRONG!

Renove the first vowel, -a-

Seicentocinquantotto.

*I know we haven't done the thousands yet, meaning you can't state the year you were born in. However you can simply say 'I was born in '96' in Italian using THIS formula:

essere+del+year.

Example: Sono del '96.

Sei del '97? No, del '95!

Etc.

You could also say: sono nato/a nel '96, '97, '98 etc.*
