Run Away

Cale does not want to go. He doesn't want to.

So why?

Why is he packing his things? Why is he planning to move? To run away from this place that stops being his home. Cale can't help but to slowly and lowly chuckle. Oh yeah, he finally remembers

Cale is tired

He doesn't want to stay any longer in this place.

He is trapped.

He can't show his real emotions.

He can't be happy.

No, he is not allowed to be happy.

Because he still had to be a better son. Be mature. To stop being childish.

But he is just a child.

A child that is forced to grow up because of the adults being more childish than him.

A child who is forced to suppress and hold back his emotions because his father is a coward,

A coward who hides, runs, and abandons people if it was needed to be just for him to focus on his own. Cale is the very first victim of that.

For years, Cale did everything for his father so he could be happy.

He secretly takes over his mom's work so his father would not be overworked and have free time for him.

He studied very hard just to know how to properly take care of the work he assigned himself.

He started to secretly train so he would be strong to defend his territory.

He continued to ask his father to rest and eat with him because he doesn't want to see his father just buried at work and ignore him.

He did his best to continue to support his father.

And yet,

The very first time his father talked to him after his mother's death.

He introduces him to a woman who is replacing his mother.  And with that woman comes a young boy who would be his father's new son.

Cale could feel his world crack at that moment.

After that meeting, the servant and maids gossip that HE should be mature, that what he did is wrong, and accept that woman as HIS mother.

Well, screw that, he would NOT be going to replace his mother. And if they have some nerves to talk about that, well why don't they try to be in his position. Let's see if they could handle being replaced by your father AND having your mother get replaced.

Because even if his father died it wouldn't be different since his father was never present since his mother's death anyway.

And despite that, they still get married, he got a new stepmother and a stepbrother. Cale suddenly becomes the stranger, the odd one, and the only one who is a red-haired member of a family of a brown-haired family.

Seeing his father smile so happily, he just blankly and emotionlessly congratulates him on the wedding. He tried to be cheerful but the cheerful tone didn't go through.

As time passed by, he watched how the others talked badly to his step-family and were not surprised that his father is not doing anything to protect his new family.

So, he stepped up. He starts acting out just to protect his new stepfamily, just so his father continues smiling. Even if he wanted to cry his heart out when he is no longer remembering the feeling of being happy.

And now hearing your own father behind the door talking and him not interjecting or protecting him from his vassals who kept saying that he is a disappointment, embarrassment, useless, and should just disappear.

His father not doing anything and just listening means he agrees to what those vassals are saying right?

And Cale is disappointed in his father, and really what did he expect? So, Cale just leaves, not bothering to hear his father's response if he is going to have one. 

This is the final straw. He started packing up his belongings even if he wanted to stay. All the necessary things that he has gathered all those years and is needed for him to survive are all being put into the spatial bags. Including his savings.

It is a good thing that he had already prepared in advance should this happen. So he already has a house and land that he can live on. He will survive in that place and have a new life as no one would know about him since that place is very far away from this place, from this kingdom.

He also already has a different legal identification he can use.

So why?

Why did this still hurt?

Even if he doesn't want to leave. If he leaves he would be free and his family won't have to take care of a burden like him.

Cale can't help but wonder as he starts to change his clothes into something that can help hide him in the night if his family would even notice if he runs away and how long would it take for them to notice him gone. Would they celebrate?

As Cale jumps out of his window and starts to run away. Not knowing that he had left his journal in his room as his emotions took over him, enough to forget about the journal. 

Said journal once found is enough to cause chaos in the Roan Kingdom, make his trash reputation go down the drain, have people getting arrested, families destroyed, and have the whole territory of the Henituse fell into guilt and shame.

But it will take them three months before the journal is found and its contents are spread in the whole kingdom. For now, the moment people found out that the young master disappeared, celebrate. Happy that the stain of the Henituse family is gone and now they will live in peace.

This is the first fic I write for the pride event and I somehow felt like I just wrote the backstory of tboah and og Cale here from some of my au's, except for the running away.

Cale here writes his journal in a very detailed manner, along with some of his investigations and some evidence, most of his experiences, and his feelings, and he did not hold back from writing all of it, so the contents of his journal will hurt.

I am tempted to kill Cale here and make everyone(the Henituse family and the Molan duo) regret, but I guess I will do that in a different fic?
