I'm not fucking cleaning this tomorrow.

My eyes zeroed in on the empty seat beside Natasha and sighed.

So Skyler didn't come down after all.

Grabbing the empty, and clean bowl near me, I reached over my plate to grab a spoonful of soup from the large pot. I took in about two deep spoonfuls before someone appeared at my side, extending some of the potato tots that were in the middle of the table.

"She likes these," Natasha told me despite my silence. I took the plate and dunked it into the soup, grabbing two slices of the toasted bread as well. "Make sure she's okay for me,"

I didn't reply but nodded curtly before gazing back at the table spread, "Oi," I snapped, silencing all conversations and laughing as they looked at me obediently, "Nobody touch the Ben and Jerry's in the fridge, I'll cut your fucking hands off,"

The entire table stiffened before a quick chorus of "Yes boss!" rang. Natasha rolled her eyes playfully and I took my leave out of the room before they could question why I restricted a whole goddamn ice cream.

Can't believe I used to be a feared gang leader and now I was merely nothing but a servant.

It didn't take me long to appear before Skyler's closed door upstairs. The others had already gone to see her since we got back to the mansion but she slept for most of the day. Probably recovering from her own injuries. Gabe had asked her to come down for the feast but for the first time ever, she refused food as if she wasn't a garbage can.

I stood outside her door, contemplating if I should knock or walk in. Considering it is my fucking house.

Again, a fucking servant.

Deciding not to get into a quarrel with her so late at night, I knocked gently on the door. That way she can't cuss me out for not knocking at the very least. I didn't wait for a reply before kicking open the door.

"Xavier! Stop doing that!" Sky shrieked, pulling the covers over her body and pointing accusingly at me. Her hand was bandaged and considering injuries on her body, I didn't expect the rest of her to be any different.

The room was dark except for the only light emanating from the lamp on the nightstand. The curtains were drawn open letting the moonlight seep into the room as she sat in her bed, back against the headboard.

"Doing what?" I asked her, feigning innocence as I walked into her bedroom casually. She bit her lower lip in exasperation and continued to hide in the duvet shyly.

So full of energy despite being practically mummified.

"Is that for me?" She questioned quietly when her eyes narrowed at the bowl of soup in my grasp.

"No, I was just going to eat it in your room," I shot back sarcastically.

"Jerk,"

Rolling my eyes, I strolled deeper into the room and placed the bowl on her nightstand along with the spoon and napkin I had grabbed. "Eat it before it gets cold,"

"I'm not hungry," Sky shook her head in a soft voice, bringing her knees to her chest to avoid eye contact with me.

I knew she was feeling dejected about the whole ordeal. Gabe was wrong, she wasn't like us. She shot the pilot of the helicopter, a perfect fucking shot, although probably an absolute fluke knowing her. But it gave me the window I needed to end Argent's life.

She was a lot stronger than I gave her credit for.

Her eyes flickered up to meet mine and I could tell by how glassy they were that she had been crying. My heart clenched at the blotchy look on her face, there was so much going on in her mind that I didn't know about. Her other hand reached out from under the covers before patting the empty space on the edge of the bed, "Can you sit?"
