"Get out Gigi and get your brother to I told you my man is coming over," she said bursting into the room.

My mom is a drunk and a druggie she kicks us out every time single time her boyfriend comes over, mainly because she didn't want him 'looking' at me.

I got out of my bed slowly so I wouldn't feel any pain.

She left marks on me again because I didn't wash the dishes.

I put on my shoes and jacket carefully before coming out to get my little brother.

"SJ comes on we gotta go" I whispered taking the cover off him.

"Whyy" he whined with his eyes closed.

"Please don't start whining right now we have to go okay we'll come back," I said as he sat up.

"Get your shoes and put on your jacket its cold," I said as he put his shoes on along with his jacket.

"Can you pick me up I'm tired" he said reaching up.

I sighed before picking him up and laying him on my chest as he rested on my shoulder.

"Hi Ms. Angel your back," the store worker said with a smile.

"Yea I'm just getting a snack and juice for him like usual" I responded with a light smile.

"You have a mark on your face honey are you okay, does it hurt?" She asked in a concerned tone ringing up my stuff.

"Y-yea I just bumped into the wall clumsy," I said looking down.

"You sure it looks bad-"

"I'm fine I promise," I said cutting her off.

"$8.17," she said as I opened my wallet seeing all my money gone.

I just got paid this morning I swear I put it all in.

"No no, I just had it" I mumbled closing it back and looking through my pockets.

The door opened making the bell ring as I continued to look.

"Do you not have it, sweetie?" She asked.

"N-No I swear I had money," I said in a panic.

My mom must've taken it again I never lose my money.

"Well my boss is here I can't let you off this time" she whispered in a sad tone.

"It's fine," I said.

"I gotchu how much is it?" I heard behind me in a firm voice.

"$8.17" she repeated as he took out a $20 placing it on the counter.

"Keep the change I got dis," he said holding up a soda and chips.

"Thank you, sweetheart," she said with a heartwarming smile.

I grabbed the bag turning around to thank the man.

"T-thank you I appreciate it," I said quickly before looking back down.

"It's nun but you got sum under yo eye you good?" He questioned.

"Ight stays safe its mad dark I can walk with you if you want," he said.
