Ethan

"Prince Ethan?"

"Prince Ethan?"

"What's wrong, Prince Ethan?"

"Nothing's wrong, Princess. Sometimes Prince's cry too," I say

Flavia climbs on my bed and lays beside me. Her small little hand comes up to my face and wipes my cheek.

It's been a hard day. I'm having body dysmorphia, every little thing is making me over think, my grades are slipping and I'm afraid my teammates are close to finding out I'm trans, which isn't good because hockey boys aren't the most supportive people towards the LGBTQ+.

"I'm laying with you, ok?" Flavia asks

"Ok," I nod my head and smile

"You're very beautiful, You're very smart, You're very strong, You're very magical and fair," she whispers the affirmations dad makes her say when she's upset.

Flavia's too pure for this world. No one deserves her.

"I love you," I whisper

"I love you too," she beams and it makes me smile.

This little spoiled diva has saved me too many times to count on both our fingers. I'd kill for my sister.

"Ethan and Flavia until the end of time," she hugs me

"Until the end of time."

__________

"When will mommy and daddy be home?"

"Tomorrow," I answer my sister

"I miss them," she says holding onto my hand

"Maybe we can call them later," I offer as we get to her classroom line. "You have a good day, Princess. We'll see you after school."

"Ok. Bye Prince Ethan, bye Prince Jamiah," Flavia waves at us

"Bye, Princess," Jamiah says

We leave her in her line and start walking to the boys school.

"Hi, Ethan."

"Oh, Hi-hi Kendra," I wave with a smile as she passes me

I look forward and feel my face heat up and heart pound.

"She definitely likes you, bro," Jamiah says beside me

"Definitely not," I shake my head

"Ask her to spring formal. Heard she's waiting," He says

"Where did you hear that?" I question

"Her brothers are on the weightlifting team. They were saying how she's waiting for "some Ethan kid" to ask her. They overheard her on the phone. There's your chance," he shakes
me by my shoulders

"Naw man. I don't even think she knows. And if she finds out she'll probably never speak to me again," I shake my head

"So? There are millions of other girls who will want you. And not for what's in your pants. So ask her, we only live once," he shrugs
