over the next couple weeks bella began to fit into the friend group. even after tyler almost killed her with his van she still hung out with them. today was the day the group was going to the beach on the reservation called la push. kira texted her boyfriend two days before the trip and he told her he would meet her there. the ride down there she tried to hold her excitement. they pulled up and mike, eric, tyler,and jess all put on there wet suits to go swimming. while bella, angie,and kira sat in the vans doorway huddled in blankets to keep warm, well not kira she wasn't that cold she just wanted to see jake. " how are you not cold?" bella asked " ive lived in forks my whole life and i come here alot with jake and his friend." kira shrugged " kira can you zip me please" eric asked. she nodded and stood did as she was asked " bella!" a voice called out that kira instantly recognize, it was jake he was finally here but why is he calling bellas name? she stepped from behind her brother and sat back next to angie. " hey what are you doing here?" bella asked " your on my side remember this is my boys quill and embry." jake replied not even bothering to look around for her girlfriend. " hey kira" embry called out noticing how bummed she looked " hey em" she said looking up with a weak smile. " its a good thing your here kira was basically bouncing off the walls on the ride over." eric said trying to help his sisters boyfriend to acknowledge her. "awwe was kira excited to see her boyfriend" quill teased as he pulled jake into a head lock and ruffled his hair. jake quickly pulled out of it and jokingly pushed quill away laughing then smoothing out his hair. " since jake is here for kira you guys should keep bella company her date bailed" jess said " what date" eric and mike said at the same time " she invited edward i think its sweet nobody ever does" jess replied " yea cause cullens a freak" quill said " the cullens dont come here" embry finished and with that the group that was surfing grabbed there board and ran to the water " how much you wanna bet eric doesnt stand up" kira asked angie " i bet he will" angie replied " yea cause you have a big fat crush on my brother" kira retorted " yea well i keep thinking hes gonna aske me to prom and he never does" angie said and before kira could respond bella did " so ask him yourself your a strong independent woman you dont need a man to ask you take the bull by the horns and ask him you self" " hey wanna take a walk" jake asked but before kira could respond bella did and the two walked off together " are you kidding me" kira scoffed " hey dont sweat it he was talking about you the whole way." embry said " yea he changed his outfit like three times and fixed his hair" quill added " yea well he hasnt said one word to me the entire time and walked away with her" kira said trying to choke back her tears

" so why are you here walking with me and not kira?" bella asked " i dont know i dont think i feel the same way as i use to." jake said " we'll figure it out and talk to her. she was really excited to come down here and you haven't spoken to her once." bella said " yea well she hasn't spoken to me either." jake retorted " well because you were talking to me and not her. she said she invited you to hang with her while we were here and your not with her jake." bella said and walked away
