The night of my works annual Christmas party, I really do not know why I decided to attend. Jo forced me to come with him so he wouldn't be alone, yet he ditched me as soon as he saw some cute guys to flirt with. I sat down at the bar counter ordering martini after martini. Every once in a while someone would approach me trying to ask how I am, even though they don't really care how I am doing nor do they want to know how I am actually doing. Then there is the CEO of the company who makes his annual speech:

"Merry Christmas everyone! Thank you for coming out tonight, I hope everyone is enjoying themselves. I myself have an announcement I would like to make. Lilly, please come up on stage." Lily was this girl who worked on the floor below me, she was an assistant and every so often would stop by and talk to me. She had short red hair with freckles on her nose and was tall and skinny, always wearing some sort of blouse with a short skirt. She was also someone I had recently had sex with, so this was getting interesting. "Lilly and I are engaged."

A pointless announcement, basically asking for people to congratulate you- how attention seeking can someone get. I drank a few more glasses and was about to head out until Lily sat right next to me.

"One martini please" She had a high pitched voice, reminded me of how cheerleaders would talk in one of those stereotypical high school films. I looked over at her, I could feel her eyes burning a hole into the side of my head. "I didn't expect to see you here Ren."

"Jo forced me to come"

She smiled at me, "I'm getting married" She showed me the big diamond ring on her finger, "Pretty huh?" She held up her hand as she shared at the ring.

"You're pretty materialistic aren't you?" I drank the rest of my martini, "Funny how just a week ago I was fucking you on my desk and now you're getting married to that old hag." I stood up from my seat, "Well if you ever want a real orgasm again, you know where to find me" I winked at her as I walked away.

I wasn't upset at her getting married, she was just another ant in my world. She had no meaning to me- but she was easy to mess with and I was bored, wanting a little entertainment and she happened to come along, so why not have a little fun when it is in arms reach.

There is a gentle breeze and a light rain soon began to fall. The rain hit the top of my head as I watched them fall to their death as soon as they hit the ground. She stands out in the crowd of grey people, wearing light blue pants with black platform shoes, a green and brown stripped sweater, and a black leather jacket, her brown hair pulled back in a low bun to keep the wind from blowing it around. She has a symmetrical face with clear skin that makes her look younger than twenty one. I stand in front of her wearing my black pants and an oversized grey button up with my long black coat, my hair half up and half down look. I get mistaken for only being in my twenties sometimes, since I tend to not wear makeup and look rather young for my age. In college my friends who majored in photography used to ask me to be their photo subject due to my thin oval face and sharpe jawline. I still look the same from when I was in college, but now there are dark circles under my eye that start to appear ever couple of months, mostly when my work load piles up.

"I can't believe you're working on Christmas Eve" Leo reached for my hand that was in my coat pocket.

"So why didn't you go home for the holiday?"

"To spend it with you of course" I looked up at her with a serious expression on my face. She laughed, "My mom passed away when I was young and my dad remarried, and my stepmom is total bitch" She took her hand out of my pocket, "Anyways, they have their own little family now, I'm just what is left of my dad's past with my mom" She looked at me, "I don't want your pity"
