The first snow fall is always the prettiest- but over time, seeing dirty piles of snow on the streets of New York makes me hate winter in the city. I do not mind the cold weather, if anything I think it is the best time of the year. Wearing black pants and my knee high black leather boots with fuzzy socks underneath, a white turtle neck with a long black coat and a grey scarf.
"Twenty nine days until Christmas!!" Jo shouted at me as I walked passed his desk, "Your favorite time of year" He said as he followed me to my office, holding a stack of papers.
"What a drag" I sat down as Jo set the papers in front of me.
The worst part of the season, Christmas. The Secret Santa that Jo makes everyone in the office part take part in, how people think everyone celebrates this holiday, the couples who mistake the holiday cheer of the season for being in love, the crowds of people, and the worst part- having to attend the annual Christmas Party my work holds.
During the month of December I end up working until midnight almost every day, drowned in work.
"Ren can I go home?" Jo said in a whiny voice while going through paperwork as he sat on my office couch, "I have a date at eight."
"Are you just trying to get out of work?"
"No!" Jo defensively said, "I matched with this guy on grinder today and he wants to go out tonight."
"Whatever."
Jo stood up from the couch, "You should go on a date or something, stress does not look good on you."
I watched him as he walked out of my office. Going on a date would be too much work, so instead I decided to text Leo asking if she wanted to drink with me at work. An hour later, I went downstairs to grab her. She was wearing grey pants with a black button up and a grey coat, along with a black beanie.
"I brought sake!" She smiled at me as I walked up to her.
I laughed, "My favorite" We went back up to my office, "You didn't have to come I know it was a pretty long commute for you."
I opened the door to my office, "Is your office usually like this?" She looked around at all the piles of paper scattered throughout my office room.
"Just ignore it" I walked over to my desk, grabbing two empty glasses from my drawer and walked back to the couch where Leo was sitting and poured us both a glass of sake, "Did you have school today?"
"I had one class this morning" She turned towards me as we both sat on the uncomfortable leather couch, "Thanks for inviting me" There it was again, that naive smile of hers and her big hazel eyes she would lightly squint as she talked.
A couple shots later, she was naked, sitting on top of me as I laid on the couch, holding her by the waist.
"I like you Ren" She looked into my eyes as she held my face close to hers, "I like everything about you; your blond hair, your pale skin, how well you fit in my arms, how beautiful you are-"
"Okay okay" I interrupted her before she could go on, grabbing her face to pull her closer to me, then started kissing her. I knew how much she liked me, in so little time of even knowing me. College students are so quick to their emotions, so blind when it comes to their feelings- especially when it involves the emotion we call love.
I laid in between in her legs looking up at the ceiling. Her arms were wrapped around my waist.
"You're so small Ren" She squeezed me tight, "I can't believe you're older than me."
"I'm actually thirty"
"What?"
"Well when we first met I told you I was twenty nine, but I'm actually thirty"
