Bella was so curious about why Cassandra hated her so much. She wasn't even bothered by mention of Chris engagement because she knew at this point Cassandra would do anything to separate them.
"I'm sorry ma but can I ask you a question?" Bella replied. Cassandra was quite surprised by Bella's question.
"She's finally going to ask for money so I can pay her off." Cassandra thought to herself. She snapped her fingers while the PA immediately handed her a check book and a black pen.
Cassandra opened the checkbook and signed on one of the pages before tearing it off.
She handed over the slip to the PA to give to Bella.
"How much do you want to ask for? Write it in that check and get lost." Cassandra said. Bella couldn't help but scoff with an eyeroll. She was used to seeing people throw money around in movies but what she never expected was Cassandra to use the same old method.
Bella cleared her throat before speaking again.
"With all due respect ma'am. I'm not here for your money. I earn my own pay not that I go around looking for rich guys that'd have their mum insult me this way."
"The feelings I have for your son is true and I really think it's best if you don't meddle in our affair. I'm sure Chris would appreciate it too." Bella said with full confidence.
At this point, Cassandra was fully boiling in anger that Bella, a girl of middle class could challenge her so she bawled her hands into a fist before looking up at Bella.
"I didn't call you here to lecture me and one thing I want you to get straight is that I'd never accept you into this family as my daughter in law." Cassandra said with a cold glare but Bella wasn't moved.
At this point Bella and Cassandra could hear foot steps approaching. Bella instantly recognised the footsteps as Chris's so she smiled. She sat quietly when Chris walked in so she stood up while Chris pulled her to his side before throwing a cold glare at his mum. His eyes went to the table where Bella was and he saw the signed blank check. He immediately understood that his mum was trying to buy Bella off. He couldn't help but get mad at the thought.
Chris scoffed while looking at his mum coldly before pulling Bella out of the house while she followed quietly behind him. Chris didn't stop until he got to the place where is car was parked. He took his time to study Bella's face while caressing her cheeks lovingly.
"Why didn't you inform me that she asked to see you?" Chris asked studying Bella's face. Bella shrugged before replying.
"I didn't know how to tell you. I knew your family members were going to send for me sooner of later but I never expected it to be this soon." Bella explained. Chris placed his forehead on Bella's while caressing her cheeks. He closed his eye's before saying
"I'm sorry if she said anything to hurt you." Chris apologised sincerely while Bella replied by rubbing her hand on Chris's which made him realise that her hands were getting cold.
"Let me get you home." Chris said while Bella replied with a smile.
At Fredrick's residence.
Thelma was in her room with her manager getting ready for the event of one of the company's she was working with as a model. The company was to have their end of the year party and it was mandatory for her to attend since she's the brand ambassador.
The name of Thelma's manager and personal assistant was Denise and she was popularly known for her loyalty to her boss. She could step on anyone for her boss sake so Thelma instructed her to contact some of their trusted journalists so as for them to destroy the relationship between Chris and Bella.
She sent the videos of Lillian made with Neil to them and instructed them to post it on Christmas which was in two day's.
Chris received a call from his youngest sister Imelda that she was at the airport so Chris drove down to the airport instead of sending Bella home.
Bella could not help but smile at the beauty of the young lady. Her eyes were exactly like Chris's. They had a striking resemblance.
"Chris." Imelda shouted as soon as she sighted her big brother. She ran towards him and wrapped her hand tightly around his neck while Chris welcomed her with a warm hug whist lifting her off the floor before spinning round. He dropped her and left her to get her balance while cubbing her cheek to study her face.
Chris could not help but get teary eyed because his sister was now grown. She was no longer the young miserable and sad kid he used to know. She looked really happy which added to her beauty. Chris could not help but pull her into a warm hug again after studying her face.
Imelda was a direct replica of their mum from head to toe. Bella couldn't help the smile on her face,looking at how affectionate the siblings are.
Chris released his sister and faced Bella.
"Babe this is my sister, Imelda and Imelda meet..."
"Christabella Walter, your girlfriend." Imelda finished her brother's statement with a smile which made Chris and Bella smile too.
Chris eyes went to the luggage in the carriage and discovered that It was too much for just Christmas holiday so he asked.
"Immy why do you have so many luggages?" He asked his sister with a questioning expression.
"Well, I don't plan to go back. I plan to go to college here. I want to be closer to you." Imelda said.
Chris knew she just graduated from high school but he wasn't expecting her to say she wanted to stay in London because he had tried severally to convince his sister but she wasn't having it.
"Does mum know you're back?" Chris asked with a questioning expression.
"No." Imelda answered sharply causing Chris to nod his head while helping with her luggage.
