"Hello Tubbo, Quackity."
"Dream, we need you to release Tommy."
"Quackity, I need to speak with the real president."
The tension in the room was high, Quackity and Dream giving glares to each other while Tubbo tried to recollect himself, not break down in front of the too more formal men.
Its just a simple meeting, so we can get back Tommy. He reminded himself. Just stick to the plan.
"Drram, I'm afraid he is right. We need to bring Tommy back. We have already taken away his role as vice president, and.. we would gladly put him in some sort of.. punishment for what he did. We can have him rebuild George's house if you want. I talked with Ranboo and he says he will help pay for anything too." Tubbo explained, his voice quivering ever now and then, taking frequent stops in his words so he somewhat looked like he knew what he was talking about. Tubbo did his best to sit straight up, getting his point across as best he could.
"I'm afraid you've made a promise, Tubbo. He was exiled, so we let you guys, and him live. He doesn't want to come back anyways." Dream laughed a bit through this part, although getting all serious and glum, yet it was all fake from him. "If only you heard what he was saying, how you were..a traitor. Comparing you to Schlatt, it was awful. He says he blames you, Tubbo, for all of it."
"Bullshit!" Quackity yelled back, slamming his fist on the table. "He would never say that. Tubbo is his best friend, he wouldn't do anything like that even if Tubbo was the bad guy here." Tubbo jumped back in his seat, putting a hand to Quackitys arm to stop him.
"A week. He goes a week in exile and we can bring him back. I'll fix anything done to your part of the land, and keep him out of trouble." Tubbo suggested, trying desperately to make a compromise that worked. He hated that he wouldn't see Tommy for a week, but it was necessary. At least in his mind it was. It had to be done to get his best friend back.
Dream thought about it for a minute, mostly seeing how it would play out. He gave a small smile thinking about it working.
"Fine. But I still need something in return, Tubbo. I can't trust that you'll keep him from doing it again, seeing how many problems he has caused in the past. I say we keep him under my watch until we can trust him."
"How the fuck to we know you can be trusted!? You are constantly causing wars against L'manburg for stupid shit like this. Yes, what he did was stupid and wrong, but he's a kid. He doesn't deserve to be fucking exiled from his country for accidentally burning your boyfriends' house down!" Quackity snapped, standing from his chair. This caused Tubbo to freak out, looking over at him with wide anger filled eyes.
"Quackity, please exit the room." Tubbo spoke softly but sternly, placing his hands together in his lap. He tried to stop his shaking my squeezing tighter on them, watching as Quackity's face turned sour.
"What the fuck, Tubbo! You-" Quackity was quickly cut off by Tubbo, standing up against him too. Tubbo was shorter, by maybe two inches, but he still stayed strong against the man.
Quackity slammed the table again, walking fast out of the room, practically stomping with frustration. Tubbo slowly sat down, turning to the man across the table from him.
"I am so sorry about that, Dream, uhm, you were saying?" He laughed nervously. Dream smiled and put his elbows onto the desk leaning forward.
"I'm going to keep Tommy in exile until I think he can be trusted. He can be allowed visitors, not that he wants any, and when the time comes, I'll let him back with you." Dream repeated himself, taking a bit of a twist so it woul go better his way, trying his best to sound nice and reassuring with it.
He was tired, both of them were. Dream had to deal with these two children from stuff they caused. Plus, it was the middle of the night after a long day of not only fighting, but yelling and tears shed.
One of Dreams most proud moments, he would say.
"I'm sorry to say but Quackity had a point. L'manburg can't necessarily trust you. We would have to.. get someone else watch him, or he could come here and we could keep him in, like..like on house arrest for L'manburg." Tubbo tried to negotiate, now using his hands to try to correctly portray his deal. Dream was uninterested, though, knowing what he needed to do to get his plan through.
"It's the exact same thing with us, we can't trust youever you choose. I was the one to take him, I was the one to spare L'manburg. I am going to watch him." He denied the boy, sitting back in his chair.
"This isn't fair, Dream! You took him from our side! Thats just a plain rule in war!" Tubbo retaliated, his tone getting louder and irritated. All he wanted was Tommy back. That's all he needed.
"I gave you a choice. War or exile. You chose war, we won. I asked you again, and you chose exile. It's your doing, Tubbo. Tommy stays with me. He doesn't want you anyways."
Tubbo was about to break down, knowing there wasn't a way to stop it. He was ready to beg, do anything for Dream. He would give up anything, even if it was the damn discs that got them in this mess the first place.
A knock at the door startled both of them, their heads turning to see who was at the door.
Quackity stood there, peeking his head in through the hole. He had a frown on his face, clearly still salty about Tubbo kicking him out.
"Someone is insisting to see you. Hurry up." Dream looked back to the president, a smile present as he scooted his chair back and stood.
"I'll be on my way then." He spoke, being cocky, knowing damn well they hadn't decided on anything yet. Tubbo quickly stood after, circling to the side of his desk to stop him before he walked away.
"We aren't done, Dream. Don't- Dream!"
The man had already walked out the door, frankly not giving a shit. He wanted his way, he got it. That's how it always worked with Dream, and everyone knew that, it just seemed Tubbo forgot.
The boy placed his hand on the side of the table, leaning as he put a hand on his head to try to calm himself, think rationally. He let out a heavy, stressed sigh.
After a moment of his so-called peace, he yelled out to get this over with.
"Let 'em in!" He yelled out to Quackity, or whoever stood behind the wall.
Tubbo was so over this.
He had worse things to handle.
